The less fortunate event

So I was saying, the old boss is outgoing, I did not become the new boss. Instead, now the company ask a manager from the other branch to oversee our branch. So, the new boss is 3 branches boss. I'm not saying if he's wrong, and I also understand it's probably an unfortunate event for him. Pretty sure he didn't get a pay raise and still gotta work 3 person work.

The lockdown has been good for the environment, as there's less car going by. However, that has changed now. Ever since the government announce the reopen(once again I would like to emphasize, they lock us down when we have 3k daily confirmation, and now they open when the daily case is at 20k), things has gone a little crazy. Smoke everywhere. Checkout the above picture, it's not fog. It smells like burning plastic. I took it simply because it looks nice.

The house that we rented to a family since last year, they only paid us until March. We've been trying to remind them, but what are we supposed to say? Kick them out? Dude, I am renting from other people as well, if I had to pay for my rent, why can't you? And after a long half a year of negotiating(still no payment), finally they decided to move.

So I took a day off from work(not exactly day off despite I took leave, am still answering crazy amount of phone calls and using phone to access email and doing some contract approval from time to time), went to our house and assess the damage. The fridge that smells like a dead cat, the washing machine that smells like old socks. And the toilet bowl that still has poop stuck in it. Not to mention the wall. I now can imagine how bad is it for me to even put a nail on the wall to hang my family portraits there. It's a rented place yo.

We cleared up the place a little, and by the time stuff are done, we're already way passed lunch hour. Went to the nearby coffee shop, had our first date after the reopn. It's been awhile we had a sit down meal, I had an egg toast, home minister had a butter toast. We share a cup of coconut milk boba, and that set us back like 40 bucks. Seriously, I think I can get more out of Starbucks with that price.

Since the tenant had left, and we're not staying there, might as well cancelled the broadband subscription. After the meal, we send the router back to the service privider, and now we're experiencing the true Kuala Lumpur for the first time in 18 months. Long we haven't been stuck in this kind of crazy traffic already.

Just when we think things couldn't go any worst? The wife car had a flat tire. After asses damage, the shop guy recommend might as well had them changed since all of them are expired. We decided, since we're going to keep this baby for a long time, might as well give her a new shoe.

Off came the rubber and our ally wheel looks very sexy, but it's not quite healthy physically. When the mechanic put the wheels on the balancing machine, we can clearly see the wheel goes wobble. God knows if the previous owner track this car at the jungle? Rally cross? The wheel is fixable, but they'll have to send it to the machine shop, and that will mean that we'll have to leave the car here overnight.

Shop guy offer us a set of Mazda wheels... well... its a little awkward seeing a Mazda logo on a Suzuki, but it's a wheel and it doesn't wobble, I think that's what matter most? And that set us back another 900 bucks.

Despite all that, I think I kinda strike a small jackpot. A guy had his trunk opened up by the roadside, had some of these we called it Chempedak. If you don't know, it's from the jackfruit family, but this one smells 10x stronger and sweetness at extreme level. Got these 2 fruits for 10 bucks! Totally insane!
