The Balneario Fluvial El Castrero is located 10 kilometers from San Juan de los Morros, on the slopes of Cerro Platillón. I went there because I had to visit it as a homework assignment and then write a report.

This fluvial spa has a mountain climate and crystalline waters coming from the previously named hill called ¨Platillón¨ and has in its surroundings small roofed areas with tables, cement benches and barbecues, which facilitates the enjoyment of the area. It has several wells formed by the action of the waters, these represent several options for all tastes, most of them shallow, and others only for adults, since they are formed with strong falls, surrounded by large stones.

The history of Balneario del Castrero is linked to the tourist development of this region of the state of Guárico, which has sought to take advantage of its natural resources and landscapes to attract visitors. San Juan de los Morros, in particular, has become a point of interest due to its proximity to various natural attractions, such as mountains, rivers and typical landscapes of the Venezuelan plains.

Over the years, this has been a very popular site among the inhabitants of the region and visitors from other parts of the country, especially during weekends and holidays. Thus, it is a place traditionally visited mostly during the Carnival and Holy Week seasons for the freshness of its waters or for the mountain environment that surrounds this natural waterfall. As tourism has become more important in the local economy, this Spa has undergone improvements in its facilities in order to provide a better experience for visitors.
