Where was I today? Sneak Peak

IMG_20230901_140733_Original.jpeg

The weather was perfect for hiking, so I went! Somewhere in the Canadian Rockies (not Banff). I’ve been eyeing this particular hike for awhile now, and it feels good to finally bring it to fruition. Today I was on the trail solo. It is not always easy to find someone that is interesting in hiking like me and has time off to do it. Leaves only one option. Hike solo. Bear spray in pocket, a couple of cold bottles of water in backpack, snacks, one clif bar, mixed nuts and my two cameras! Photos taken somewhere in the Canadian Rockies.

Sheesh, heck yeah that's whats up. Solo hiking is the best in my opinion, also dope azz captures. Did you get to see any bears?

No bears thankfully, that being said, wouldn’t have minded seeing one if it were a safe distance away. Thanks, been a long day, time to hit the hay.

Such beautiful scenery, that's a great place to hike. Every time I see black and white mountains it always makes me think Ansel Adams though! That's a gorgeous spot, I love the mountains!

Indeed it was spectacular. Nature is the best. Btw, looking at your bio, what is your faith if you don’t mind me asking?

It must have been my dear friend. I'd hold onto those precious memories in your heart!

With regards to your question.. I don't seem to quite fit into any particular denomination. This is based on my own interpretation of the holy scriptures, not quite aligning with that of the masses. That being said.. I have found great comfort in holy texts of the Abrahamic religions.

I am most certainly still on a path of learning and discovery - using my heart as a compass. Thus far I have read every book of what is commonly referred to as the 'old testament', as well as every book of the 'new testament'. I have also taken it upon myself to read the collection of 'apocypha' as well.

Though I am certainly not fluent in speaking some of the ancient languages, I have, in my journey, consulted Hebrew, Greek and Latin texts as well. With certainty, I do not know it all.. but I am of a firm personal belief that I have been blessed with a certain understanding nonetheless. I choose to conclude that this is for a reason. Take care mate.

Do you have a mentor? Is this a daily pursuit that you focus on?

Hi my friend. A mentor.. there is no one serving that purpose for me, per se. I am, however, on an incredible journey guided by my heart (which is how I feel the holy spirit). I have found this approach to be most enlightening. Yes, this is my constant pursuit - my life's purpose.

Dear @daveks when the weather is good for hiking, we should always take advantage of it, for mountain visits, that's why we can only do it, as happened with you, friend. Good to walk alone, in any case it must be done with care. You mention that there is the possibility of bears, it is scary so take Spray, be careful. You mention that you are also equipped with cold water bottles in your backpack, snacks, I guess it was also a note to take photos in the Canadian Rockies, which must be very cool. I will always wish you success and thank you for your visits to my publications. successes.

Thanks @omarrojas, it was a great little adventure. Didn’t run into any bears thankfully. Hope you had a good weekend.

May it always be so, friend @daveks , seeing a bear, not even at a great distance, is scary. Thank you for paying attention to my visit. Forward always. I wish you many successes.

This is an incredible landscape! Hah, one of the reasons why I love hiking in Iceland so much is that there are 0 predators that can harm people so you always have peace of mind 😅.

I’ve got to get up to Iceland someday! First though, I need to finish exploring the Canadian Rockies (which could take a lifetime).
