Boardwalk to Heaven

IMG_20230927_121501_Original.jpeg

Boardwalk to heaven, at least to me, hiking in the Canadian Rockies is like a slice of heaven. For today, we are hiking to Ptarmigan Cirque. Located about thirty minutes southward on highway 40, deep inside Kananaskis country, Alberta. The trailhead area was slightly confusing to me, as this was also the trailhead to Pocaterra ridge (a hike that is now on my radar for next year!) With this particular hike, after parking your vehicle, you are supposed to actually cross the highway to begin the hike. Super odd. So first off, I did wander about somewhat, before getting my bearings. Before crossing the highway, there was this nature boardwalk just smack dab out here in the middle of nowhere. Of course I had to follow it, because who wouldn’t want to? It felt like a boardwalk to heaven in a sense.

It is indeed a boardwalk to heaven! 😍

Hey, pretty cool that you've been traveling outdoors for quite some time! How long are you planning to continue your adventure?

Well this adventure took place in September. I usually am about 2 months behind or so. Thanks for stopping by @purepinay.

I saw quite a few of the boardwalks when I went up north. I really like them, it seems like they help prevent excess erosion and plant destruction from foot traffic, especially on muddy days. We could use more of them in Oregon.

They really are the best, feels great to walk on them as well. Thanks for the visit.

I loved the 'boardway to heaven' title because that's exactly what I'm reminded of, some inspired artists painting pictures of these stairways all the way up and Angels' prominent ascent and descent... Hahaha... With Alberta having quite a lot of these gorgeous picturesque views. Heaven is not far after all.

We have similar boardwalks here in England. How long was it in distance?

This one actually was quite short. It ended just around the bend (to my disappointment). Thanks for looking.

I have found some pictures I took of a boardwalk here in a woodland walk area. It is quite long at around two hundred yards, maybe more.

I imagine it takes a lot of work and materials to build these.

That's kind of bizarre, a nature walkway in the middle of nowhere! I can't get over how pretty those shots are!

It's just so odd that yellows turn white in the B&W, it almost looks like snow!

It does, doesn’t it! The power of black and white photography. Love it.

So amazing and stunning, for sure a sight to see. I think that's why I shoot more birds these days for my hikes aren't as awesome as this around here. Some are okay but these colors pop like crazy and I like it a lot. Awesome shot's my friend.

I really like your bird shots. If I had more time, I’d get into photographing them more often. Thanks.
