Growing up, we all have our fair share of teasing and name-calling. But for me, one particular nickname stood out: "Johnny Fatker." It might seem like a harmless childhood game to some, but it had a profound effect on my self-image that lasted well... long time. I was given the name Johnny Fatker by my fourth grade teacher. It was meant to be a nickname, but it ended up being more like a label that stuck with me for years. The name itself didn't bother me too much, but the way it was used by my classmates did. They would use it as a way to tease me and make fun of me. It made me self-conscious and I started to believe that I really was overweight and unattractive.
It wasn't until I got to high school that I started to see myself in a different light. I met some friends who didn't care about my weight or how I looked. They accepted me for who I was and that made all the difference. Now, when I look back on those years, I don't see myself as fat or ugly. I see a young man who was going through a tough time, but who came out stronger in the end. Thankfully, I was eventually able to lose the weight and improve my health. As I started to feel better about myself, I realized that I could be a positive example for others in similar situations. If I could overcome the challenges I faced, then anyone could!
I started speaking out about my experiences and sharing my story with others who were struggling with their own body image issues. It felt good to be able to help others who were going through what I had gone through. And it also helped me to solidify my own positive self-image. You do not have to change for others, you have to accept who you are. All of these things lead to insecurity. Insecurity is a hard thing to face. It's something that can make us feel like we're not good enough, that we're not worth attention or love. But insecurity is also something that we can overcome, with the help of discovering our own confidence and resilience.
When it comes to body positivity, insecurities might be the root of a lot of negativity towards ourselves. We might look in the mirror and see all the things that we don't like about ourselves, instead of seeing all the amazing things that make us who we are. Or, we might compare ourselves to others and think that they are better than us because they have a different body type, or they seem to always look perfect. These are negative labels that we give ourselves, based on our insecurities. And these labels can hold us back from living our best lives and being happy with who we are. But we don't have to let them control us! By discovering our own confidence and resilience, we can overcome these insecurities and break free from the negative labels.
Self confidence doesn't mean thinking you're perfect, it means accepting yourself for who you are and knowing your worth. And resilience means having the strength to keep going even when things get tough. With these two things on our side, we can overcome anything that tries to bring us down. But In today's society is often seen as a political movement and for some people, is about more than just celebrating their own bodies, it's about combatting the negative labels that society has placed on them. Whether it's 'too fat,' 'too skinny,' 'too tall,' 'too short,' 'too dark,' or 'too light,' there are always going to be people who try to label others in a negative way. Fortunately, there are also people who are resilient in the face of these labels. They know that they are more than just their bodies and they refuse to let the negativity of others bring them down. They embrace their uniqueness and use it as a source of strength.
If you're facing negativity from others because of your appearance, remember that you're not alone. There are plenty of other people out there who understand what you're going through. Find comfort in knowing that you're not alone in this journey and use your resilience to empower yourself and others. All of this has changed my life in so many ways. It's helped me to love and accept myself for who I am, to appreciate my body and all it does for me, and to feel comfortable and confident in my own skin. Since then has allowed me to see myself in a whole new light. I no longer dwell on my imperfections or compare myself to others. Instead, I focus on all the amazing things my body can do. I'm also more accepting of others, regardless of their size or shape. It's helped me to become more confident and content in my own skin. And I'm grateful for that.
Let our children not grow up in a terrible world. Together we can make it better. It is our destiny to
suffer from the past, to long for the future, but to forget the present.

My previous @v4vapp proposal has expired. I have a new one which is running but unfunded right now. I'm still running @v4vapp and all my other services.
I've just updated v4v.app and I'm getting ready for some exciting new features after the next hard fork.
Please consider asking your friends to vote for prop #265 or consider unvoting the return vote.
For understandable reasons in the current crypto climate it is harder to get funded by the DHF, I accept this so I'm asking a wider audience for help again. I'll also add that I power up Hive every day and usually power up larger amounts on 1st of the Month. I'm on Hive for ideological reasons much more than for only economic benefit.
Additionally you can also help with a vote for Brianoflondon's Witness using KeyChain or HiveSigner
If you have used v4v.app I'd really like to hear your feedback, and if you haven't I'd be happy to hear why or whether there are other things you want it to do.
