“THE RUINS”
Stress on work? Tired at City? Need some relaxation? Fine, Dumaguete is your finest escape! From beautiful sites to gorgeous landscapes, we've got your craving covered!
Greetings, hivers! The beauty of Dumaguete continues to astound me. This is the ideal spot to satiate your appetite for exploration or leisure. But for today's blog, I'm going to show you a classic, old historical location “The Ruins”.
THE RUINS
The Ruins of Talisay City are well-known for their naturally ruined beauty. The Ruins were created to honor a husband's profound love for his deceased wife. The Ruins are the ancestral residence of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and Maria Braga Lacson. The house was built in the early 1900s and features an Italian design. The site is Talisay, Negros Occidental, Philippines.
This is one spot that should never be overlooked, especially when visiting Negros Occidentales. The "Taj Mahal of Negros" or "The Ruins" of Talisay City, Negros Occidental, located just a few minutes away from Bacolod City. This, is one of the world's 12 most fascinating ruins. And one of the Philippines' most beautiful landmarks.
The RUINS are primarily a tourist attraction. Within the compound, they have a café and a souvenir shop. The entire location, particularly the burned mansion, is Instagrammable, and there are several photo opportunities for everyone like us. They have large gardens that are ideal for photo shoots like prenup. The location is also ideal for that dream wedding that every woman dreams of. Overall, it is a welcoming environment for photographers, history buffs, and travelers.
When I was in grade school, I only heard this from my teacher telling about history. The reason why I've always wanted to go to Negros Island's "The Ruins," an old historical site where the structures symbolized power. It is the ruins of a grand Italianate estate with a restaurant and landscaped grounds that was razed during WWII.
And the ground area of the Ruins is like a large garden with benches, trees, and plants. It's nearly like a park, except there's a price to enter.
According to the tour guide the former PBB housemate, the walls were made of Grade A cement and egg whites and were built nonstop, which explains the marbly appearance.
The ruins' upper levels are closed, but the ground floor is wide open.
Outside, there is a reflecting table that can capture photos that appear to be taken from the surface of a lake or pool for added impact, but the line can be long.
Our Experience at The Ruins
It was a cloudy weather when we arrived at 3 p.m. along with my friend. We waited for the front desk for a few minutes after entering the area.
We looked around after a brief talk, and I instantly aimed for the glass table where the famed mirror photos are taken. Yes, the mirror shots are a reflection from a glass table directly outside the cafe's front door, not something natural. Simply let yourself to be creative and you will be able to get the photos you desire.
There's also a fountain across the mansion's ostensibly main entrance, which is extremely charming for photographs. It's a fantastic place for the wedding ceremony, in my opinion!
We walked into the mansion. Inside, there's a photo cart, a wall with the owner's and the family's photos and history, and a souvenir shop, which is the mansion's only air-conditioned space.
ENTRANCE FEES
• Adult — ₱100
• Consumable (valid at the Restaurant) — 300 (Optional)
IDEAL TIME TO VISIT
Around 5 p.m. is the best time to go. As a result, you'll get sunlight as well as sunrise and sunset. Absolutely breathtaking. A fantastic location for photography and simply relaxing.
- I would say that this place is a magnificent place with a fascinating history. The grounds, as well as the ruin mansion, are well worth seeing. And thats a wrap in Negros Island! See yah in my next blog!*
