Bislig City’s Hidden Waterfalls
Create or make an itinerary includes Sian Falls! And don’t miss it out when visiting Bislig City!
Greetings, hivers! For today’s blog I’m going to share with you another hidden gem in Bislig City. So here's one waterfall that may not be well-known among tourists but is loved by locals.
The Sian Falls is another waterfall in Bislig that many people are unaware of. Sian Falls is located in Brgy. Kahayag in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
It looked like a typical falls but if you climb to the top of the falls for beautiful and calm water, you may simply stay still and enjoy the peace and quiet. But there's something soothing about listening to the quiet waterfall. This is really one of those waterfalls that I would classify as very calming.
Sian Falls may not be as well-known as its neighbor, Tinuy-an Falls, but it is still magnificent.
Sian Falls is always crowded with people because the entrance is free and it's been open to the public but since typhoon Pablo destroyed the falls last 2012, the local government has no longer been in charge of the waterfalls.
Long before, the locals said that before the typhoon Pablo hit Surigao Del Sur, the region was largely used by locals for swimming, and there were a few cottages where you could leave your belongings.
When my cousin and I arrived to take in the scenery, the thing that struck me the most about the place was how natural it seemed. It was just the two of us, the waterfalls, and a small open cottage hidden away in the corner. There's nothing else. The area was no longer developed to accommodate a large number of tourists. But still, it was great. It appears to be completely natural. You would really want to jump right in and enjoy the water.
We were simply enjoyed by our adventure. So good thing for us, when we went to the falls, we were surprised to find no one else in the area. Just us, where you can take a solo picture of yourself along with the wide waterfalls.
WHERE AND HOW TO GET THERE:
- Along the national highway in Barangay Kahayag, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur. There is a sign pointing to Sian Falls.
- On your journey to the falls, you must travel through the wooden bridge.
- Lastly, take around 10 to 15 minutes to hike or trek to this location.
After all, we merely came here to see the falls. There weren't many things to do in this waterfalls. So we just had a good time taking pictures. Above all, the scenery was really breathtaking for me.
This is a great destination for vacationers, and you should visit during the rainy season since the water is even better.
