La Navidad en Venezuela/Christmas in Venezuela

Para muchos países la navidad es un fiesta más, normal y de características similares a las de otras celebraciones, es solo una reunión familiar con una buena comida y buena música. Pero en Venezuela no es así. En este país del Sur de América las cosas son muy diferentes, ya que desde mucho antes de diciembre ya comienzan los protocolos para estas celebraciones. Es que ya para octubre se comienza a sentir que hay un cambio en el país, mucha gente compra la pintura para cambiar la fachada de la casa, y buscan las luces de navidad, y los adornos que darán colorido a cada hogar, además de la planificación de esa fecha para ver si se preparan las hallacas, el pan de jamón, o algún platillo que haga referencia a una costumbre que es de todos los ciudadanos de esta bella nación.

For many countries Christmas is just another holiday, normal and with similar characteristics to other celebrations, it is just a family reunion with good food and good music. But in Venezuela it is not like that. In this South American country things are very different, since long before December the protocols for these celebrations begin. It is that by October you begin to feel that there is a change in the country, many people buy the paint to change the facade of the house, and look for Christmas lights, and decorations that will give color to each home, in addition to the planning of that date to see if the hallacas, ham bread, or any dish that refers to a custom that belongs to all citizens of this beautiful nation are prepared.

En lo particular ya para los meses de agosto y septiembre, comenzamos a montar el trabajo musical en el coro, y con los solistas de la Fundación, para alegrar a la ciudad amenizando en las iglesias, teatros y otros espacios como, centros comerciales e instituciones públicas y privadas, eso porque en mi familia somos la mayoría músicos y ya es nuestra costumbre, pero no dejamos atrás los preparativos en nuestros hogares, para la preparación de las hallacas, y otros platos para las cenas de navidad y año nuevo.

In particular already for the months of August and September, we began to assemble the musical work in the choir, and with the soloists of the Foundation, to cheer up the city by entertaining in churches, theaters and other spaces such as shopping malls and public and private institutions, that because in my family we are mostly musicians and it is our custom, but we do not leave behind the preparations in our homes, for the preparation of the hallacas, and other dishes for Christmas and New Year's dinners.

Venezuela es una gran referencia de lo que significan las celebraciones, ya que en nuestro país celebramos todo, no dejamos escapa nada, y disfrutamos cada momento. Quizás es algo que heredamos de nuestros ante pasados, pero es algo que ya tiene que ver con nuestro gentilicio, mucha gente en el mundo habla del ser venezolano, como uno de los seres más especiales de este mundo, nos inunda la solidaridad, y el amor por a gente, hasta el punto, que hay mucha gente que toma estas celebraciones de Navidad para servir a los demás, sobre todo a aquellas personas que tienen necesidad y carecen de la posibilidad de comprar todo lo necesario para celebrar estas fiestas en familia.

Venezuela is a great reference of what celebrations mean, because in our country we celebrate everything, we do not leave anything out, and we enjoy every moment. Perhaps it is something that we inherited from our past ancestors, but it is something that already has to do with our gentilicio, many people in the world speak of being Venezuelan, as one of the most special beings in this world, we are flooded with solidarity, and love for people, to the point that there are many people who take these Christmas celebrations to serve others, especially those who are in need and lack the ability to buy everything needed to celebrate the holidays with family.

Este año al igual que el año pasado, extrañaremos la comida de mi mamá, o las ocurrencias de mi padre, y las sonrisas y lágrimas de felicidad de mi bella esposa @mariajruizb, es que no podemos olvidar tanto amor recibido por éstas maravillosas personas que llenaron tanto en nuestras vidas, y de las que aprendimos todo lo bueno de su manera de ser, de dar, y de vivir, ellos eran parte de la vida en estas familias, y nunca las olvidaremos.

This year just like last year, we will miss my mom's food, or my father's witticisms, and the smiles and tears of happiness of my beautiful wife @mariajruizb, we cannot forget so much love received by these wonderful people who filled so much in our lives, and from whom we learned all the good things about their way of being, giving, and living, they were part of life in these families, and we will never forget them.

Los regalos. Para cada niño de Venezuela, es uno de los días más esperados, la noche de Navidad, todos ellos esperan dormirse lo antes posible para recibir la visita del Niño Jesús, o de Santa, y es algo muy bonito sin imaginar el sacrificio hecho por los verdaderos héroes de esos pequeños, los cuales en un gran porcentaje, son sus padres, o tíos, en algunos casos, sus abuelos, porque la magia de la navidad, también tiene grandes secretos, y los niños por supuesto algunos guardan en su corazón la gran realidad, y otros siguen siendo inocentes de todo. Por eso amo la navidad, porque esos niños en algún momento, se convertirán en el niño Jesús, o el santa para sus hijos.

The gifts. For every child in Venezuela, it is one of the most awaited days, Christmas night, they all hope to go to sleep as soon as possible to receive the visit of Baby Jesus, or Santa, and it is something very nice without imagining the sacrifice made by the real heroes of those little ones, which in a large percentage, are their parents, or uncles, in some cases, their grandparents, because the magic of Christmas, also has great secrets, and children of course some keep in their hearts the great reality, and others are still innocent of everything. That's why I love Christmas, because those children at some point, will become the baby Jesus, or the santa for their children.
