Saludos amigos entusiastas de los juegos de mesa.

Hoy me uno a la iniciativa que nos presenta la comunidad @rcreationalgames Iniciative: Your favorite board Games / Iniciativa: Tus juegos de mesa favoritos (Esp/Eng).

Aprovecho la oportunidad para invitar a las amigas @charjaim, @lisfabian y @brujita18, así como a todos aquellos que les gusta sacar a pasear a su niño interno, a jugar un rato con los amigos y familiares para disfrutar de las bondades que nos regala este compartir. Sin más comparto mis preferencias.

El Scrabble encabeza mi lista. Es un juego que conocí de adolescente cuando una querida tía nos los regaló, a partir de allí mi afición por este juego fue en escalada, no perdía la oportunidad de jugarlo con mis hermanos.

Recuerdo con mucho cariño cuando compré mi primera computadora, mi amable esposo me instaló un juego de scrabble en ella. Jugar contra la máquina era un gran reto y me sentía tan frustrada cada vez que perdía porque salía una figurita humana que se tiraba sobre el tablero, revolcándose de la risa por su triunfo, esto lo que hacía era retarme más y seguir jugando para superarla, en otras palabras, “caí en el vicio”. Jajaja.

Si te tomas este juego en serio, sabrás que tienes que apertrecharte con dos herramientas básicas: Un buen diccionario y el listado de palabras de dos y tres letras, en su momento memoricé la mayoría, lo que te dará muchas ventajas para enlazar las palabras y tener mayores posibilidades de hacer “scrabble”, es decir, colocar en tu turno una palabra con las siete letras. Debo aclarar que estas herramientas no son para jugar, sino para constatar la jugada, en caso de que algún jugador tenga dudas sobre la validez de la misma.

El juego, una vez que conoces las reglas es fácil de jugar: acepta un máximo de cuatro jugadores, cada uno toma siete fichas de una bolsa que contiene 100, cada ficha tiene una letra y con ellas vas a formar una palabra, la cual tienes que colocar en el tablero enlazándola con una palabra ya colocada. Lanzando un dado puedes escoger quién inicia la partida y la continuarán siguiendo el orden de la derecha.

Cuando haces tu jugada, recargas el atril con el número de fichas que te faltan para completar nuevamente las siete letras y darle continuidad al juego hasta que se acaben. Gana el que tiene mayor puntaje.

El puntaje es el resultado de la suma del valor numérico de cada letra, más la indicación que señala el tablero si colocaste una letra que caiga en dicha indicación, por ejemplo si cayó en: un doble tanto de la palabra o en un triple tanto de la letra, adicional a ello está el valor sumado a la nueva palabra que creaste al enlazar la palabra nueva con la ya existente en el tablero.

Es todo un reto. Tengo mucho tiempo que no lo juego, al hacer esta reseña me parece un buen momento para formar un grupo de jugadores, pues a mis hermanas, con quienes juego con frecuencia, lo que les gusta es el juego de las cartas.

El Boggle

Otro interesante juego de palabras que me encanta. Tiene la gran ventaja que no hay límites de jugadores y se pueden armar unas partidas muy dinámicas.

Una de las cosas que más me llama la atención de este juego y por lo cual me resulta tan interesante es que de acuerdo al lugar donde estés ubicado puedes construir palabras muy distintas a las que hacen los otros jugadores, es decir, en la premura, puedes ver palabras que otros no lograron ver y viceversa, aquí la perspectiva es importante.

El juego consta de un cubo con 16 dados con una letra por cada lado, un reloj de arena y cada jugador debe disponer de papel y lápiz.

Se tapa el cubo, se agitan los dados y que cada uno de estas encaje en la mueca que le corresponde en la base, cuando el jugador que está moviendo las piezas coloca el cubo en la mesa y lo abre, otro jugador coloca el reloj de arena, en ese momento todo el grupo comienza a escribir las palabras que identifique, hasta que la arena caiga y terminó el tiempo.

Las palabras tienen que tener tres letras o más y una secuencia lógica en su formación. Al finalizar el tiempo, cada jugador en voz alta va leyendo las palabras que escribió y todos vamos tachando las repetidas, las no repetidas son las válidas y reciben 10 puntos, al final cada uno suma los puntajes de las no repetidas y gana el que mayor puntaje tenga al final de la partida.

Desafío al saber

Este juego lo encontramos en el mercado con distintos nombres, pero en esencia son iguales. Un grupo de preguntas a las que hay que responder, unas tarjetas con indicaciones a seguir que te ayudan a avanzar o que te retrasan el avance hacia la meta. Se puede jugar de forma individual y si hay muchos jugadores disponibles en equipo.

Es un juego muy educativo que propicia la cultura general, siendo ideal para toda la familia y más allá de este aprendizaje entretenido es fabuloso para desarrollar habilidades de pensamiento como pueden ser, la memoria, la atención y el pensamiento lógico.

I take this opportunity to invite my friends @charjaim, @lisfabian and @brujita18, as well as all those who like to take their inner child for a walk, to play for a while with friends and family to enjoy the goodness that this sharing gives us. Without further ado, I will share my preferences.

Scrabble

Scrabble tops my list. It is a game that I knew as a teenager when a dear aunt gave it to us, from there my love for this game was escalating, I did not miss the opportunity to play it with my brothers.

I remember fondly when I bought my first computer, my kind husband installed a scrabble game on it. Playing against the machine was a great challenge and I felt so frustrated every time I lost because a little human figure would jump on the board, rolling over with laughter for his triumph, what this did was to challenge me more and keep playing to overcome it, in other words, “I fell into the vice”. Hahaha.

If you take this game seriously, you will know that you have to equip yourself with two basic tools: A good dictionary and the list of two and three-letter words, at the time I memorized most of them, which will give you many advantages to link the words and have more chances to do “scrabble”, that is, to place in your turn a word with the seven letters. I must clarify that these tools are not for playing, but for checking the move, in case any player has doubts about the validity of it.

The game, once you know the rules, is easy to play: it accepts a maximum of four players, each player takes seven chips from a bag containing 100 chips, each chip has a letter and with them, you are going to form a word, which you have to place on the board linking it with a word already placed. By rolling a die, you can choose who starts the game, and they will continue it following the order on the right.

When you make your move, you reload the lectern with the number of pieces you are missing to complete the seven letters again and continue the game until they run out. The winner is the one with the highest score.

The score is the result of the sum of the numerical value of each letter, plus the indication that indicates the board if you placed a letter that falls in that indication, for example if it fell in: a double point of the word or a triple point of the letter, in addition to this is the value added to the new word that you created by linking the new word with the existing one on the board.

It is quite a challenge. I haven't played it for a long time, and this review seems like a good time to form a group of players, since my sisters, with whom I play frequently, like the card game.

Boggle

Another interesting word game that I love. It has the great advantage that there is no limit to the number of players, and you can have very dynamic games.

One of the things that most strikes me about this game and why I find it so interesting is that according to the place where you are located you can build words very different from those made by the other players, that is, in the rush, you can see words that others failed to see and vice versa, here the perspective is important.

The game consists of a cube with 16 dice with one letter on each side, an hourglass and each player must have paper and pencil.
The cube is covered, the dice are shaken and each one of them is placed in the corresponding face on the base, when the player who is moving the pieces places the cube on the table and opens it, another player places the hourglass, at that moment the whole group begins to write the words they identify, until the sand falls and the time is over.

The words must have three letters or more and a logical sequence in their formation. At the end of the time, each player reads aloud the words he/she wrote and everyone crosses out the repeated ones, the non-repeated ones are valid and receive 10 points, at the end each player adds the scores of the non-repeated ones and the player with the highest score at the end of the game wins.

Challenge to know

This game can be found in the market under different names, but in essence they are the same. A group of questions to be answered, some cards with indications to follow that help you to advance or delay your progress towards the goal. It can be played individually and if there are many players available, as a team.

It is a very educational game that promotes general culture, being ideal for the whole family and beyond this entertaining learning is great for developing thinking skills such as memory, attention and logical thinking.
