Stocking up on my favorite food and drinks is such a good feeling
π₯©π₯πππ«π―
Going to the store is considered an adventure if you are like me and go right after your Delta-8 edible kicks in. Plus I decided to go to a Kroger that I am not very familiar with, so I did lots of wandering around. I knew that I needed to get some drinks and food, plus also wanted to try to be prepared for a picnic this weekend with @flowerbaby.
I eventually found everything that I needed, minus watermelon. I paid and then packed up my car. Everything fit perfectly in the trunk of my Audi, but it was looking pretty full back there. One of the benefits of not owning a much-desired coupe I guess.
When I arrived home, it was up to me to carry all of this stuff inside by myself. I considered this a post-workout workout. Usually, I try to get everything in one trip, but this time it was going to be impossible. I had to make three separate trips back to the car and on the last one, I managed to stack three cases of seltzer water on top of two 12-packs of tall water. It was a serious challenge to not drop this stuff, but I somehow managed to make it down several steps, and then open two doors to eventually make it into my kitchen. It was balanced exactly like you see in this next photo.
@flowerbaby is a fiend for PB&J sandwiches. We luckily got her off of the frozen Uncrustables since they are always sold out. Now we just make our own sandwiches, which are so much cheaper. That is even with me buying the pricier peanut butter, jelly, and jam.
I cook steak on my cast-iron skillet pretty much every day now. I usually don't use a ton of seasoning, but I will admit some salt, pepper, and maybe even an herb blend makes it taste even better. I have tried several seasonings, some of which have been good and others totally terrible. I try to avoid the brands that are filled with so many ingredients that I can hardly read them all. This bourbon barrel steak seasoning fit my criteria well. I love pretty much anything bourbon flavored and I noticed a few other things on the back of this that intrigued me. I have since tried it and this one is one of my new favorites.
I have always loved yogurt, but usually avoid it because all I can get in the store is pasteurized. I am convinced that raw dairy is way better for your body once you are used to it. Sadly, I don't have anywhere that I can purchase yummy yogurt in raw form. I said enough is enough and I'm just going to get me some pasteurized yogurt and enjoy it. Most of the brands were junk, but I landed on Noosa and felt okay with what was in it. I struggled to decide between Honey, Blueberry, and Vanilla Bean so I just got all three. I tried the vanilla as soon as I got home and it is literally so damn good. I am glad I got so much because I see myself eating a lot of this daily now. It is packed with protein and fat, my two favorite things to make sure my workouts at the gym are fully absorbed.
I buy steaks at my local butcher multiple times a week. I usually go for strip or ribeye cuts. Most of the time I just get whatever is freshest. This time I noticed that included a grass fed option. I asked and they said all of their meat is grass fed, but most is grain finished. The grass fed is a bit more, but I decided to try it. I got a ribeye and strip that were grass fed. I ate the strip already and it was very tasty, but I also used that new seasoning on it. Hard to tell why it was so scrumptious.
After getting everything put in the cabinets and fridge, I was very satisfied by how organized all of it is. We had what looks like an ifinite supply of @flowerbaby's favorite Sparkling Ice flavors Black Cherry and Black Raspberry. They often sell out, so I got as many as they had when I saw the stock was available.
I drink mostly seltzer water and distilled/re-mineralized water. I would add raw milk back in, but still haven't started that back up. Otherwise it's mostly just eggs and steaks in the green bags, Delta-8 edible gummies, butter, and a few other things.
I'm grateful to have all that I need. Having food and drinks around my place is a blessing. I know that many places in the world are suffering food shortages, some don't even have fresh water. I am lucky to have been born in a place that is calm and offers me sustence.
A bit of a random post today, but hopefully you were still able to enjoy it. Now you know about what I buy when I go to the store. You also have a teaser that my girl and I will be going on a picnic this weekend. You will find out where next week whenever I post about it.

I love to stock tooβ¦ but the urge to eat it all in one go is too tempting. I tried this once, found myself glancing at the chips and other goodies until finally I finished half of what I planned to store for like a week π π€¦.
I am lucky that I never have a problem spreading out my meals properly. I am able to forget about food so easily, but then when it comes time to eat I also know how to chow down.
you must be rich or bad with money or both
Maybe I should just start eating bugs instead π

Good job stocking up on supplies! That peach jam looks awesome!
I've never done it personally but my grandmother used to make her own yogurt. It's not that hard, just time consuming. I remember she'd have a bag above the door that was filled with Yogurt. Each time the door would open and shut it would help mix the yogurt. I guess it has to be disrupted several times a day and that was the easiest way for her to do it and not forget. π€£ I'm sure if you looked online you could find a recipe to make your own. Homemade is really good. Plain is disgusting IMHO, but some people like it. Just mix in your own fruits and juices for flavoring.
The peach jam tastes like peach sweet tea.
I have never tried to make my own yogurt either. Sounds like your grandmother had the process down very well. If I finally start getting raw milk from the farm again, it would definitely make sense to make raw yogurt with it, rather than the pasteurized crap that they sell at the grocery. Sure it tastes good, but I feel like my body gets confused about how to digest it properly.
Nothing quite like seeing your fridge full of goodness..
yum, that steak looks yum. PBnJ, huh? :P
stacks on stacks! not just HIVE and HBD, but water too I guess..
I eat 2-3 steaks a day, and yet they still taste amazing.
My girl is obsessed with PB&J, can't get her off of them.
HIVE, HBD, and WATER... essentials.
recipe for ya!
*but for u, just eat the big chunk of steak.
I like itππ That is the most perfect kitchen π
I do like my kitchen a lot. It is not super fancy, but it is spacious enough for me and has everything that I need.
