Wayfair for the win πŸ›

I am one lucky dude. My mom has come through clutch yet again thanks to her kindness and her membership in Wayfair's Tried & True program. If you are unfamiliar... basically, she purchased so many things from Wayfair that they selected her to join an exclusive club where she gets free products each month in exchange for an honest review afterward. It is very difficult to get into this program and if you fail to review products quick enough, you are gone for good. Luckily my mother is a badass and has been getting free things for many months now.

You may remember my free computer desk, my free computer chair, my free tv stand, plus a few other things I haven't even posted about. Well now, I have a free Papasan chair to discuss.

My tiny living room doesn't have a couch. I have been working with one older Papasan chair for the longest time, which I love. I mainly use it when gaming or occasionally watching a movie by myself. The only problem is that when my girlfriend and I wish to watch a movie on my new big screen tv in the living room, we have been forced to sit together uncomfortably in my Papasan. That all changes finally, since I officially have a second Papasan chair. This means we actually have the option to watch movies on the big 4K tv, rather than always being forced to get in bed and watch things on my smaller and much older 1080p tv.

The only slight drawback to all of these free products from Wayfair is the fact that you usually have to put the things together yourself. Sometimes that can be a very exhausting process, but other times (like this one) it is fairly simple. I used to get very frustrated with any kind of building, but I am becoming more and more comfortable with it, especially basic builds like this one.

It may look like a lot of shiny silver pieces, but there were only a dozen or so steps to this entire process. The instructions left me to question very little besides an occasional is it this or this circumstance. Every time I ended up figuring out what to do and was able to put this together solo.

Outside of the bolts and such, there were only a few other components. The black swivel piece was a pleasant surprise since my old Papasan doesn't spin. Then there were four base pieces and four chair pieces.

Everything pretty much just connected and then bolted together. My other Papasan was made out of wood and already put together when I got it. This one here is actually made out of some sort of metal, but is still about the same weight and feels equally as durable, if not even more so.

Pretty much nothing is going to top the soft and teal look of my first Papasan cushion. I do however really like the design of my new one's cushion. It may look black, but it is a very dark green/blue color with a cool little white pattern on it. You could flip it over to the solid color on the back if you'd like, but the zipper is exposed that way. You always have the option of taking the cover off and washing it or refilling it with extra fuzzy stuff to make it feel new again. My plan is to just never get it dirty and vacuum it regularly for crumbs and such.

I almost failed to mention the fact that my new Papasan chair actually came with a little glass table to match. As you can see, it looks like a pint-size version of the chair. I actually didn't need another stand in my living room, but I have been needing one next to my bed. So I will just put them in separate rooms, both will be getting used.

I figured I'd show a comparison between the old and new Papasan chair. I'm keeping both of course. As you can see, the older one is quite a bit deeper than the new one, but otherwise, they are very similar. My old wooden one has a small piece that broke off in the top right corner, but it is still. perfectly fine to sit in. You can also adjust the angle of the old one, but the new one is in a fixed position, besides being able to spin off course. The old leaves you in a slouched position which is pretty cozy. The new one has you in more of an upright position with better posture, and can easily be made cozy with a little pillow behind your neck.

Overall, I love both the new chair and stand. I didn't expect my mom to get me these things and am super grateful that she decided to spend her free monthly items on me once again. She is one of the kindest and most caring people I have ever known. If you wonder how I turned out to be such an awesome person, look no further than my mother and father.

My stand is right next to my bed and serves its purpose very well. I have plenty of space to place my wireless charger, remotes, drinks, and whatever else needs to be by my bed when I'm chilling or sleeping.

This is the final look of my living room now. I still plan to use my old chair when recording my gameplay videos, but I will be using my new chair every single weekend when my girl claims my old chair. I'm just fine sitting in this new chair as we watch epic movies and tv shows together during our relaxing weekends. We usually put our feet on each other so that it doesn't feel like we are far apart. Sure it isn't a couch, but these things are much more moveable and make cleaning my place a manageable task since I vacuum and mop frequently and like for the floor to be clear when I do so.

Thanks again, mom! I'm looking forward to the free beach canopy that is arriving next.

Not the best photo since we took it in bad lighting with the selfie camera, but here the chairs are in action. @flowerbaby looks so tiny and I look like a giant.

It was pretty easy to do, but ME from 10 years ago would have been complaining about this same task. I've come a long way.

Yay! FREE stuff! :)

That was quite a little build. I remember my mom's papasan chair from my growing up in Ohio days.. I would take off the top bowl and put it on the floor, then rock all over.. :P fun.

u said u are about 180 lbs., so that makes flowerbaby about 90 lbs??

The only downside to this is that my mother recently found out that she gets a 1099 tax form from Wayfair for her "employment". I guess this is the first year where she got enough free products to equal an amount large enough to be taxed. It is still worth it even after having to give the government a cut, which btw I think is total nonsense since they are corrupt and all.

What part of Ohio? I'm that way somewhat frequently. It is one of the border states to WV.

She is basically half my size, so your mouth sounds close to being correct πŸ˜†

I like that size/weight ratio (girl:guy)

when I first met my wife, she was very skinny and I was about the same size as now..

I know where it is, just west of Chillicothe. I have been through that area many times on my way to places like Columbus/Cleveland/and Cincinnati. Only about two hours from where I live now.

You two look great!
