Fresh is far from your typical love story
The horrors of modern dating seen through one young woman's defiant battle to survive her new boyfriend's unusual appetites. Source
It really is not often that a film totally shocks me with its plot. I had literally no idea what Fresh was going in. My girlfriend just started the movie up and I said okay. A few minutes in I asked her what it was about and I assumed it would be just a typical love story of sorts, except with the guy who plays Marvel's Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in it. Boy was I wrong. This film decided to focus on a much darker topic that not many other movies or tv shows care to discuss.
Fresh stars Daisy Edgar-Jones as Noa and Sebastian Stan as Steve. Noa has been swiping on a dating app endlessly. She is tired of all the lame dudes that she keeps meeting on boring dinner dates. It seems as though she will be single forever. Then she happens to meet Steve the old school way, at the grocery store in the produce section. Steve is super awkward, but he actually has a personality worth enduring unlike all of the bogus bros she has met previously. They exchange numbers and then some time goes by.
Noa and Steve end up going on their first date together and it truly seems like it is a dream come true. They mostly drink, so you don't really get to see Steve's weird eating habits. Noa tells her best friend Mollie all about Steve, but he doesn't tell anybody. This is the first major red flag, of which many more will come.
Steve invites Noa to escape the city and go on a little vacation together. This is the beginning of the major plot twist, which I will not spoil for you. let me just say that the way this film shocks you may cause some with a weak stomach to hurl. If you're like me, you will find it to be relative to our actual reality. Not that I support at all what ends up happening in this movie, but I have a strong feeling that this type of thing is way more popular in our "normal" world than people actually know.
The movie seemed to drag on a bit, but other than that I thought it to be pretty intriguing. Steve's eating habits are far more peculiar than you may picture. If you thought an angry vegan or passionate carnivore was odd, just wait until you see what Steve's diet is like.
This is a Hulu movie, so you'll find it over there. I've left you with the trailer below for a teaser of what you will see in this one.

I'll watch soon. thanks dear.
The first 25% of this movie makes everything seem so perfect, but things take an extremely dark turn and I loved how surprised I was by it all.

:P Looks tasty, gotta watch.. btw, just finished vikings: vahalla.. very satisfying. :)
I'm sure there are people with the same diet as Steve. Much more truth to this one than most people expect.
Valhalla was so good! I want another season ASAP. I'm still only one season 2 of the original Vikings show from History Channel. Trying to finish, but it's a lot to catch up with.
:) Hey Daltono,
I just watched this one and thought u would like it to..
it's so cool the way he sees how to make stuff.. the time flies by,
That is absolutely insane, those details are so cool. Thanks for sharing this. The Tremortusk was one of my favorite machines in Forbidden West. That guy has some serious talent.
for sure.
I was so surprised that this movie was so gory and that bucky can actually be such a villain :D he is since captain america more a marvel heartthrob for so many girls. But i think the movie is great, especially the dance sequences were kinda out of the world.
It wasn't what I was expecting either, but it was better than I originally thought it would be. Bucky pulled off his character quite nicely, he was hard to figure out. You and I must have similar taste in film 🎞👀
hehe i like bad movies. actually when they are so bad that they turn out good :D haha ...
