Greetings fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia!

Just checking in with a quick update on "Smudge," our new (old) cat who came to live with us last week!

Smudge now sleeps on her soft blanket on the couch, rather than under a chair

Smudge is slowly starting to warm up to her new surroundings, and now comes up and greets us quite openly, rather than looking ready to run every time she hears a new sound.

She is turning out to be a very sweet and almost eternally purring little cat... although we did know that she was very good natured, when we agree to take her in.

Checking each other out through the "kitty gate"

We have come nose-to-nose many times now, and sit on each side of the kitty gate without any hissing or other antics. We've also been together in the same room a few times, without any shenanigans.

Next week, the Hoomans plan to leave the gate open all the time, and we'll see how it all works out.

Smudge, about ready to not off for a nap. We're glad to see her ears upright and curious again!

On the whole, we all think the transition is going well. We expected it would take a while, because Smudge is 14 years old, so changes would be harder on her. But she's handling it like a champ!

Caturday Community by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS! It has a lot of subscribers but is not very active.

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community; it's there, but not very active.

Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the recently formed Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and has quite a bit of cat content!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
