Splinterlands Art Contest // Week 165 //LIGHTNING DRAGON
There are so many cool characters in the Splinterlands universe, that it is getting harder and harder to choose which one I want to use in the contest. But this week I decided to do the Lightning Dragon. Number one because he is one of my favorites, and number two, I already had a dragon in my Poser3d Library.
I used this image of the lightning Dragon as my reference. The 3d modling and animation software that I use is called Poser12. It's 3d software that is pretty easy to use but can also get pretty complicated too. I have been using this software since 1998 when Poser3 was first released. And to this day I still have not even come close to figuring everything out lol.
So I started out with my basic dragon model, the challenge was to get him as close to the lightning Dragon as possible.
First I changed his skin color from green to blue, then I added spikes to his nose and back.
I gave him a few extra spikes because I wanted him to look a bit more menacing.
Poser12 also has some pretty cool 3rd party particle effects which is what I used for the lightning. Hopefully one day I will learn everything this program has to offer, so I can make better animations, I just hope Splinterlands is still around by then lol
Those are great dragons !
Thank you @opidia, glad you liked it!
Esta muy bien hecho bro, genial
Another awesome creation! The Splinterland cards offer such a rich variety of subjects to choose from, I know it's hard to pick just one to work on.
Love the way he's flying and spitting the lightning.
Good luck on the contest!
Thanks for the comment @blueeyes8960! It was a pretty challenging animation, but to be honest, I had a harder time trying to figure out which splinter character to do lol
Wow! What a fantastic piece. How do you create this animation?
Thanks @maxwellmarcusart, glad you liked it, to do animation in Poser12 takes a bit of patience, but it's easy once you get the hang of it!
If you have been using it since 1998, then you must be a master by now. I am going to check out.
Cool buddy, to me it is one of the easiest and fun 3d programs out there right now!
Okay. Do you know any 3D app that would be good for android?
Not really buddy, because these programs are pretty big and they use a lot of computer power, so right now android isnt powerful enough
All right. Thanks.
