Hello beautiful people!

@kemmyb here 👋

Welcome to the New Cross Culture's Daily Curation where we bring you some amazing posts from members across communities of different cultures, focusing on but not limited to bilingual posts.

The Cross Culture community, was created by @whatamidoing.

It is a community that supports authors who make posts that share the realities of different cultures first hand, as well as different perspectives and experiences. We look for ways in which cultures can become crosscrossed and enlightening while going beyond stereotypes associated with certain culture.

The authors whose articles have been chosen for this week are all writing content of high quality, which focus on the various topics:

  • All bilingual posts
  • Posts in regional communities or tags
  • Posts related to language or culture
  • Posts in our cross culture community

Cross Culture's daily bulletin aims to bring to light all authors whose articles would otherwise remain unnoticed and lost in the platform, therefore we tend to reward authors who create quality posts, giving them a fair chance to establish themselves on the platform.

Howbeit, that's only the half of it!!!

After careful selections, our curators which come from diverse cultures will single out the most outstanding articles among all those curated to create a weekly shout out to the authors from the Top posts of the week.

📌Therefore, here are this week's awesome authors and their posts:

Christmas Tradition: $anta $ack Treasure Hunt by @liftslikealady

IMG_20211222_171412.jpg

When my husband was a wee lad, his Granddaddy would put together brown grocery sacks and fill them with penny candies, fruits and nuts. Granddaddy did this for all the grandkids, which was about 10 kids. He also did this for his own adult children, their wives, and his own wife as well. The exciting thing about this was that they weren't just sacks of nuts, fruits and candies. He had taken the time to hide money inside random pieces in everyone's bags. You had to open everything up to find the money. It was like a real life treasure hunt.

African Salad (Abacha): The Most Talked About Delicacy by @glotokens

IMG_20211222_171344.jpg

So on one of those days I saw a woman selling African salad locally called Abacha...There is a saying that goes thus that there is a first time for everything and that day happened to be my first time having a taste of the most talked about delicacy the African salad. It was so delicious ans tasty the seller used many stuffs to garnish the salad. Stuffs like palm oil, fish, onions, cow skin aka Kanda or Mkpomo, red beans, slice fresh pepper, sliced utazi leaf(Utazi is a climbing shrub with a broad heart shaped leaves. The botanical name of this plant is Gangronema latifolium from the family Asclepiadaceae. It has a characteristic sharp, bitter and slightly sweet when it is eaten fresh.), sliced garden-egg etc.

Golden Temple And The City Of Amritsar by @preets

IMG_20211222_171508.jpg

Amritsar, this city was founded by Fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Sri Ramdas Sahib ji. The city was originally known as Ramdaspur, later it came to be known as Amritsar...Golden Temple is the most important spiritual site of Sikhism. It is also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib (the abode of God). The pool and the temple complex was completed by Sri Guru Ramdas ji in 1577. This Gurudwara was attacked and destroyed by various Muslims empires. Maharaja Ranjit Singh rebuilt it in Marble and Copper in 1809 and overlaid the central sanctum with Gold foil in 1830. So that's why this place got the name of Golden Temple. In the picture you may see the Central Sanctum with Golden color.
