MY END OF THE YEAR SALES UPDATE

I wrote in a previously published post about how I was preparing for the end of the year sales for my brand. I am an entrepreneur and I own a brand with the name Ardor Global Enterprises. During my final year, I sold majorly plain t-shirts and perfumes but now that I am done with school, I decided to face my perfume business squarely and I invested in it greatly. I decided to do an end of the year sales as I mentioned earlier and here is an update…

In the preparation for the end of the year sales, I had a friend to help do a little manipulation with my logo. I wanted to create a separate brand for my perfume business, but also a subsidiary of Ardor Global enterprises. I named it ‘Ardor Perfumery’ and created an Instagram page for it. See my brand’s official logo and the new one created for my perfume business below.

This friend of mine later helped in creating a flyer to communicate the breakdown of the end of the year sales. It contained the deals available, the start and end dates, delivery dates and every other needed information. It came out really nice and I totally loved it.

I was so grateful for my friend’s help with the designs because I would have spent a lot on them and I was actually already low on cash since I spend all the money with me to restock goods for the end of the year sales.

I had to put packaging nylons in place since my branded nylons had finished since like forever. While I contacted a member of my family that is into printing, I tried to create a design on my Canva. I waited for her to send her design and decide if I would eventually go with hers or mine.

Her design is the first one, on the left hand side while my design is the one on the right side. Well, I eventually went with my design. Do you think I made the right choice?

The nylons came in a day later and this was the end product:

I realized that the printer changed all the color of the logo to just one color—orange, and that was not how it was in the preview sent. I checked if it didn’t go against my brand guidelines and I realized it did🥹. I actually did a proper branding for my brand from the start, that made it possible for me to know this.

I had to take the nylons that way because there was actually no remedy since it has been printed already. Till now, I still wonder why she decided to change the color on her own without informing me.

I began the sales on the 20th of this month and today is the 4th day that the sales has been ongoing. I was unable to post much today because I had to sort out some deliveries, but I will try better tomorrow.

Yesterday, I went to the market to get the gifts that I would add to every order. It wasn’t supposed to be something much, but I tried to be thoughtful about my choice of gifts. As I got to the market, it dawned on me that the prices of things in this country has actually skyrocketed in an alarming rate. I had to just settle to buy few things.

For the gift, I chose to buy lip balm and sweets. The weather has been really dry due to harmattan and honestly, a lip balm ought to be owned by every Nigerian at the moment. I think that was quite thoughtful, don’t you think?

I also bought small packaging nylons to put all the gifts in one place and add to every order.

I have been posting all the items available on sales across all my social media platforms—WhatsApp, Instagram and X, to get sales. It’s been fair so far, and I do hope it keeps getting better.

It’s really not easy to be an entrepreneur and I do pray all the hardwork of every entrepreneur out there pays off. I hope and pray I make a lot of sales this period and even do more next year.
