A DAY OUT WITH MY FRIEND

I have this friend that came to Ibadan (where I reside) for his NYSC (National youth service corps) program and he doesn’t really know a lot of places here. I have lived here all my life (although, I don’t know so many places, I’m still way better than him) and I thought it would be nice to take him round the town🌝(as per tour guide wey I be). Eventually, I was able to take him to only one place in town that he had never been before. That still counts, yeah?🌝

Well, the location I decided to take him to was ‘Palms Shopping Mall’ located at ring road in Ibadan, Oyo state. It is popularly referred to as ‘SHOPRITE’ , but that’s actually one of the multiple brands that sells in the mall (I think). This mall has probably been visited by every resident of Ibadan😂, it’s actually that popular. A lot of activities takes place there, so there are a number of things people go there for.

We were supposed to meet at the place by 11am, he got there around 11:30 but I got there around 12🥲. I feel bad about that because he had to wait in an unfamiliar place for me for about 30 minutes plus(I sincerely apologized for that)

We entered the mall and the first stop was a restaurant because my friend was quite famished. I didn’t order any food because I had eaten noodles with my brother before I left home, so I just took ice cream so I won’t be idle🌝🌝

I am always shy of open spaces, so I requested that we sit at one corner that looked like it was made for socially awkward people like myself🌝 My friend agreed, and the silver lining was that we could see the whole restaurant from the spot without turning heads. We even had a lot to observe, make jest of, and laugh about😂

After finishing at the restaurant around 2PM, we went to check the cinemas for their schedule and figured out that we could only go in for the one slated for 3:20PM. It was a Nollywood movie (a Yoruba movie to be precise, with a title none of us had seen anywhere before) but we decided to watch it anyways because it felt funny and also like a bit of an adventure 😂

We still had about an hour and few minutes left before the movie would start, so I just took him to shoprite itself and we just passed the time there. I got this popsicles there while going around, and it was really nice(I recommend!)

We later got back the cinema house, booked the ticket, collected the popcorn and went in for the movie.

The movie wasn’t bad, actually and they added some nice twists that made it seem more interesting. They tried to be unpredictable in some scenes and that worked out but just some extent.

After the movie, we went out of the mall and took some pictures. Here are some below:

It was a really beautiful day and I had fun. I am so sure my friend feels the same way too
