We celebrate the I International Meeting of Venezuelan Coffee tasting CAFÉ SANARE ☕.
Meeting week ☕.
Hello fellow coffee connoisseurs and lovers. I hope you are enjoying an exquisite cup of coffee right now.
Today I want to tell you a little about our Venezuelan coffee since this week will be dedicated to presenting the 378 brands of coffee that we Venezuelans have. How many of them will I have tasted? It is possible that not even a quarter of them. What I do know is that I feel very proud to belong to this land that once occupied the first places as a coffee producing country.
The coffee growers and coffee tasters are enjoying this wonderful Encounter. It makes me very happy that in Venezuela this type of events are organized and also that the entrance is free of charge. The doors of the Círculo Militar in the city of Caracas are already open to receive all coffee lovers.
More than 300 brands of Venezuelan coffee is a great success and I am thrilled to know this data. I have taken the opportunity to refresh some terms that we will surely hear in this meeting.
Coffee cuppers: are those responsible for certifying the quality of the coffee. They are internationally trained and certified. They have sufficient knowledge to qualify and control the quality of the coffee.
Many times this term is confused with the term barista. Nothing to do with it! We are sure to see many baristas in action in this International Venezuelan Coffee Encounter, it will be easier to identify them among coffee growers, tasters and visitors.
Baristas are artists. They specialize in performing all kinds of tricks at the moment of preparing a cup of coffee. They are admired and valued by consumers. We all like to taste an exquisite and frothy cup of coffee very well prepared by a barista.
I hope that many of the inhabitants of Venezuela can come and enjoy this spectacular event. Unfortunately I live more than 8 hours away traveling by land to get there, 45 minutes by air if I could afford the ticket, but I feel happy to know that our coffee will be known by the whole world and probably we will occupy again the first places as producers of the best coffee.
Don't feel sorry for me! To celebrate this event I have decided to celebrate from my humble home, I want to show you a coffee that I will try for the first time to tell you about its taste. How did I acquire it? It was a gift from one of my nieces. They read all my #hive posts and they love the idea of talking about coffee because they all love coffee, in their house and in mine there is a cup of coffee at snack time.
On the packaging it is written that it is a coffee produced in Venezuela. Specifically in the state of Lara by @agropecuariacafe2016. This is a presentation of 100 grams. As you can see the packaging is silver color similar to aluminum foil.
No viene empacado.
This coffee really lacks aroma. Generally when we buy a coffee everyone can identify its smell. I remember when I bring home the freshly ground Creole coffee sold in my city, everyone can perceive the smell of coffee. They comment and ask to be invited. The Creole coffee I buy is very good. It does not come packaged. It is ordered directly from where it is being ground.
It is a strange coffee. It does not smell even a little bit like coffee. It is light brown in color and white particles can be noticed. To make the coffee I boil two cups of water, add sugar and then two tablespoons of SANARE coffee. I stir and wait for it to boil.
The result is a very dark colored coffee. Too bitter. Its flavor is indescribable, it does not taste like any of the coffees I have had. Drinking it gave me heartburn. However, it is always good to know other brands of coffee. Accompanied by a sweet cookie.
One of my sons approached me and suggested to bind it with milk to improve the flavor. I accepted. I made coffee with milk, however it remained bitter and very black.
Either way we consumed our cups of SANARE coffee. It may not have been pleasant on my palate, but you like it very much. I invite you to try it and to leave me your opinion about this new Venezuelan coffee.
I will continue to enjoy reading about the best moments of this important event for the country. Many tasters, baristas, cuppers and coffee growers from around the world will be visiting Venezuela to learn about our excellent coffee. I hope that the election and awarding of the baristas will also be published by the press and audiovisual channels. It is fun to watch them prepare coffee. I wish them the best of luck. ☘️

Hello @creacioneslelys,
I never realised how big coffee consumption and production is in Venezuela; I learned this from community members.
Over 300 different brands of coffee in your country is remarkable indeed.
Is there a big price difference across the board?
I agree that the package you've shown looks more like it's mixed (like a 3-in-1 coffee), so I'm surprised by the dark colour it produced... Also happy to hear that you celebrated the occasion in your home:)
Thanks for stopping by!
Hello 🙋
Venezuela has been a coffee producer for decades. More than 300 brands of coffee prove it. There are many new coffee growers in the country, from artisanal to more industrialized.
The price difference is not noticeable. Coffee from gourmet packaging is more expensive. In my city the kilo of coffee is between 8$ and 10$ approximately. The packaged ones sold in supermarkets always cost more.
Ok, that's great to have an idea:)
Always at your service 🤗
😍
Hi @creacioneslelys I am also very excited about our specialty coffee tasting in our country, I hope I can enjoy it since it is until tomorrow, I have tasted that coffee and it is very very bitter.
Hello friend. Hopefully you can go so you can tell us about it. You must feel more excitement being there.
It really is very bitter SANARE coffee. 🤭
Asi será 😉
So it will be 😉
I have not yet tasted this specific brand, but I know that at this moment Venezuelan coffee is going back to what it was in its glory days.
That's right!!! There are many good brands on the market. We always choose, but most of them are excellent.
