Splinterlands | Fog of War Battle Challenge

Another straightforwar Rule Set is highlighted this week for the Share Your Battle Challenge which now also is called 'Battle Mage Secrest" in Splinterlands. This is the Ferocity Game Rule.

This is one of the more straightforward rule sets where all monsters get the Fury Ability doing double damage against Monsters with Taunt. This pretty much comes down that you aren't able to play any monsters with Taunt and there it stops. So very much this rule is very neglectable overall.

I do continue to simply have not enough time to properly select the best possible deck which makes me go to the same couple of decks as an option time after time. With the Aimless and no Neutal Monsters allowed I went for a basic Death Deck.

This consisted of the Astral Entity Legendary Summoner and the basic Nightmare + Corrupted Pegasus combo in the front. I followed this with 2 Magic monsters with the Boogeyman mostly to help with the speed aspect and the Phantom Soldier to somewhat counter Magic as both Water and Earth were allowed which often brings Magic Centered decks. I did play 2 Ranged Monsters in the back first with the Ravenwood Warden as death decks without it are without armor and much more vulnerable, and the Octopider to nerf Melee attacks.

I did get faced with a full Magic team and I had some protection against that to have at least 46% to get the win. Variance however was not on my side with too little of the damage going to my tank. The way play in general goes is that Balanced teams usually win against semi-focused teams while having a chance against Attack Focused teams. Teams focused on a certain attack usually always win in case there is no countermeasure whatsoever.

Yeah, magic generally is 'overpowered' and you pretty much always need ways to reduce it for your opponent in every match.
