SMAP Contest Round 74: Proud Parents
Every week @nelinoeva hosts a fun contest in the Feathered Friends Community. This week's theme is Family Portrait.
Bo and Lorena have a baby.
Bo on the left, Baby in the middle, Lorena on the right.
I'm not certain, but this may be their only surviving fledgling. Both parents were pretty jumpy and nervous today, which usually indicates they had some kind of traumatic experience, most likely the loss of a child.
It sucks that this happens and it sucks that I know this. I've seen a lot of crow death and loss myself. It's very painful.
BUT
This baby is alive and well.
Lorena just taught them how to take a bath.
And how to shake it off.
Just looking at these pictures I'm almost positive this baby is a boy. The kid's got Bo's big head and intense eyes. Looks a bit stalky, too, like Bo. Not at all dainty like Lorena. Their surviving baby last year that I can hardly talk about because it hurts so bad, she was dainty. So dainty.
Lorena also taught baby to preen after the bath.
Look-look-look-look!!!
Look at Lorena's head.

Good luck to the baby in this crazy crow life!
Thanks!! This one better make it or else I'm quitting crows for good.
Isn't it amazing to watch how the little one was taught by its mother?
I am glad you managed to sjow us these awesome photos.
Thanks for the tip!!
