Oh, I !LUV that you went through the video to get a still shot of its tongue out.
Blue indicates poison in the wild so totally a defensive mechanism. The pattern on their skin that makes them look like a snake is also a highly effective defensive mechanism. I've been shocked enough to stop several times when seeing one before I realised it was really a harmless blue tongue skink :P !LOL
