Just Another Day In My Life
Just a quick short post tonight because I am still recuperating from the exhausting weekend activities. As mentioned in one of my DBuzz posts, my sister and her husband were in town over the weekends, and I was busy hosting them. I didn't even have time to plan for my Hive posts, and though I did take some photos, I refrain from sharing them here to protect the privacy of my loved ones.
And today, my hectic schedule continues with a trip to the hospital to apply for my past medical reports for insurance purposes. The hospital was about 30 kilometers away, and it wasn't fun getting stuck in a Monday morning traffic jam. If there is one thing I hate about living in a big city, I would say the dreadful traffic congestions that seem non-stop 24 hours a day. But I am still glad I managed to accomplish what I needed at the hospital.
The rest of the afternoon was busy helping the kids with their homework. Speaking of schoolwork, I finally enrolled my daughter in tuition classes for two of her weakest subjects - Malay Language and Maths. I figured it was about time she attended extra classes to improve her grades. I just can't cope with teaching her at home while helping her brother with his schoolwork ON TOP of doing my own work. I can't afford to stretch myself too thin, knowing how easy it is for me to develop burnout.
Her classes will be 100% online, and the fee is highly reasonable. I am also considering enrolling my son, but I am not rushing to do that. However, I am considering enrolling my son in a robotic class suitable for kids. There is a robotic center not very far from where we are staying, and I hope to get a quote on their fees and see if it is affordable. I hope he can learn some new skills and perhaps develop an interest in pursuing them further. As a parent, I need to help build my kids' potential because most kids don't know their interests unless we introduce those things to them.
I tried to spend the rest of the day chilling out by working on my art. I have been working on this drawing for weeks and hope to complete it soon. I envy those who can draw every day and post them on Hive. I used to do that years ago, but these days life gets more hectic I rarely have time for art.
I did a bit of reading too from Anne Lamott's Small Victories - Spotting Improbable Moments of Grace.
I tried to journal but I was sleepy and no words came...
And finally, a selfie with my husband while waiting for the kids to be dismissed for the day.
And that's it from me today. I hope everyone have a great day ahead wherever you are in the world 😃
That's it for now. If you read this far, thank you. I appreciate it so much! Kindly give me a follow if you like my content. I mostly write about making art, life musing, and our mundane yet charming family life here in Klang Valley, Malaysia.
