Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to talk about how are at a pivotal point on the industrial front.

Thoughtful Thursday Industrial Changes with AI

There are a lot of things going on these days and I would like to think that I'm kind-of up to date on some of the things that are going on in the world, not the useless political crap, but on the technology front. One of the things that is on the front of many people's minds these days, and rightfully so is Artificial Intelligence.

There is a lot of concern about how AI is going to impact us now and going forward. What a lot of people don't seem to understand or may just not be aware of is that "Artificial Intelligence" is more of a buzzword than some realize. We've had this AI capability, to a subdued extent, for I think a decade or more. It's gotten improved with the utility of things like ChatGPT and other large language models but there has been AI at play for quite some time in various realms of our day to day lives. Algorithms feeding us information based on our previous preferences that we've fed it is an example of this AI. News rooms have also been using AI for quite a while to help drive their stories. Personally I think they've been using it to write their articles for a while but they will deny that. I digress on that front though..

With the obvious concern on AI and what it could do to negatively impact us, I wanted to highlight something that I was listening to the other day. The Tuttle Twins podcast is one that I've rather enjoyed because it covers a wide range of topics in short bits but it's incredibly informative and educational. I would recommend checking them out, the core concept is geared towards kids but as an adult I've learned quite a bit from it, so it's for all audiences in my opinion!

In the episode, they were talking about the Industrial Revolution and how pivotal it was for our modern day civilization. We likely all know that but one point of the podcast that really intrigued me and inspired me to not only think a little bit differently, but also write the post here.

Did you know that a LOT of people were against the Industrial Revolution (IR) in the early days, while it was happening? We always read about all of the positive changes that have occurred during and after it but what often happens with history, is that we get only one side or are not exposed to a particular side of the information. There was a significant portion of the United States that was against the IR, and I was never told that type of information before. When you think about it, it definitely makes sense!

What I was inspired to write about here with this post was that we seem to be in a similar predicament today, with the amount of pushback and backlash we are getting on the AI front.

PLEASE NOTE I AGREE WITH IT IN SOME ASPECTS!

What we have to be very careful of with AI and how it can and will impact us and direct us in the future is the group of people who are controlling it. We must make sure that AI and it's future use cases are as much Fully Open Source as possible! The more FOOS AI we have, the better we will be able to manage and direct the way we are able to take advantage of this capability in the future. Centralization through Crony Capitalism with companies like Gulag (G&^gle) M#crosft and others through regulatory capture of the technology and control of all aspects of the innovation of it are NOT the future. They are the most dangerous players in the game because they are a gigantic group of Marxist activists who do not want to allow people to flourish on their own, and seek to control and subjugate into their whim and ideologies.

Looking at it from the front where the majority of people can benefit from FOOS versions of AI, we would be able to unlock vast amounts of potential of not only the human mind but of getting incredible datasets incorporated into the LLM of the AI so that we can have it help us perform potential calculations of what would be the best benefit for us based on what our inputs are.

For example, if we want to focus on something that is going to be crucial for ourselves as farming. Being able to load a farm-specific LLM with all kinds of historical textbooks from the 1800's through today based on the information around farming in our particular regions of the country, we could then input some of the local information that we have such as our elevation, soil composition and other factors into the LLM so that we could ask it questions about things that we could plant, when to plant, how to fertilize it, when to fertilize and a vast litany of other pieces of information. Normally those bits of knowledge and skill would come after many years of farming and trial and error. It would still be trial and error to some extent but we would be able to leverage the AI and the vast amount of calculation capability to help us optimize that so we may be able to refine 5 or 10 years of experience with a particular amount of land down to 1 year or so. The potential yields of the crops would be incredible!

Another example that we could and likely will end up getting a lot of use out of in the future is medical practices. For example, when the holistic based community comes up with an AI generated dataset of the various studies that have been published based on plant-derived medicines such as Slippery Elm, Activated Charcoal, Echinacea, Goldenseal, Oil of Oregano and countless others. Being able to get an AI LLM to have that data, FOOS of course, and being able to put in some information of what we are experiencing and what the data is for what could be a treatment for what we are likely able to use to treat ourselves is going to be a wild period of time. This dataset will likely have to be based outside of the US or EU, because we know the criminals in the pharmaceutical and other industrial complexes will have a lot of investment into this not being possible. The amazing benefit though of FOOS is that it will exist out in the internet and there are not a lot of ways in which they could neutralize it, especially if that data is associated with a blockchain such as Hive. If we could get the data filed here onto the blockchain, there is no way to delete it. It could be modified by edit but the original version is always going to be there until the last Hive node is shut down.

I could go on with other examples of what I think is going to be a part of the upcoming Industrial Revolution redux but the point of the matter is that we should be open to the possibilities here. I don't think that LLM will ever be writing posts for me but that doesn't mean I can't think of the amazing and critical possibilities that it can provide for us in the future. There are countless other positive examples of what this technology can and will do for us in the future, so this is just what is on the top of my head. I may write some additional post series for the upcoming AI technology things that I've seen that may be beneficial. I saw one the other day that I will certainly be talking about!

It's how technology is evolving and people are acting on what it's saying and we're going to see a lot of things inside of it change. Sunshine looks so beautiful.
