Insidious Radio Commercial Fiasco
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to expose this pretty crazy radio commercial and the degeneracy it is seemingly promoting!
Insidious Radio Commercial Fiasco
We are becoming quite the degenerate society today, aren't we?!
I was listening to Pandora online radio the other day in the car with my son which we normally do when we are driving to places. I prefer that to normal radio often times because I don't really like most of the shit that's playing on the radio to be honest. It's nice to be able to select the tunes you want and not have to worry about some other crap coming on for the most part or having to switch stations, since the commercials are only about 50 seconds or so max and you get more tunes.
With that though, is the realization that a part of our society is indeed fucking doomed. What do I mean? Well check out this fucking commercial that came on the radio!
It was advertising a hotel chain I've quite frankly never heard of and I think that's likely a good thing. It seems like a shitty hotel chain for hipster assholes but that's just my initial thought of it. The hotel chain is called Citizen M, not really sure what the hell that means but sure let's go with it. With the advertisement, it goes on as most do trying to sell the brand to get you to stay there. I've heard the commercial quite a bunch, several dozen times at least since I listen to Pandora a lot while working and while I'm driving. I never really paid too much attention to it though and I think that may have been my downfall!
So the first thing I noticed today, which I did notice a little bit before, is they use a British woman's voice. They try to play to the exotic feel of a place for the people that live in America and use British voices. I wonder if the hotels in Britain use American voices or something when they are trying to do the exotic thing on their end lol most likely not.
Anyway the ad, where it got creepy! I was listening to it while driving and I don't think the little man picked up on this aspect of it thankfully. The hotel brand was advertising that it was for the "modern citizen" and trying to appease to the masses of course, and seemingly the lefty types from what the ad felt like more than anything. That's okay, I don't have a problem with you trying to appeal to your target audience.
I paid close attention to the words for whatever reason though, and this is where I was fucking pissed! It said in the typical sped-up commercial voice that the hotel appeals to people, "modern people", "affair people", and some other shit. Hold up mother fucker, did you just say "AFFAIR PEOPLE" meaning you are trying to appeal to people who are fucking having extramarital affairs?!?! What the fuck dude!? I'm not daft and I've certainly not been living under a rock so I am pretty confident that "Affair people" hasn't created some newspeak meaning that the assholes in the ideology have tried to twist and change to something else.
These assholes just admitted in a radio commercial that they are trying to appeal to people who are interested in having affairs with someone else while they are married, and bragging about it! It wasn't sped up 15x like the drug commercials but the lady was listing off a few different things and that was absolutely fucking one of them. I have only heard the commercial once, when I picked that statement up, and I'm going to be listening to some more Pandora over the next few days so I am going to be paying close attention to what the hell these shitbags are saying but if it turns out to be true, that they are promoting a brand that is trying to promote having affairs for married couples then what the actual fuck. If these things are really being advertise on radio, then we truly are doomed in some ways! I don't know why the hell people are trying to normalize this shit, but fuck this is brutal!
Am I crazy to think that this is just flat out wrong here!? I hope I'm not but let me know if I'm off base here LOL. I tried to find the commercial online but I didn't locate it. If someone can search "Citizen M Pandora commercial" or something and see if it comes up, something from at least 2022 forward, you may find it! I didn't have any luck myself.

Some businesses will basically do anything for money. I blame the broadcast station that allowed them to air such commercial where kids and young people are going to be listening. Well, it's crazy the world we live in, but why use the voice of a British woman?
They use the British voice to attempt to have an element of exoticism. It’s just marketing bullshit really lol.
Indeed it is their fault for such low quality crap! Not shocking these days though, with the degeneracy that’s occurring.
It is a fact that in today's time people can do anything to earn money and can run anything. Children and youth are watching these things and it has a very bad effect on them.
That's what I was most annoyed about, the affect it has on children!
Yeah you are right.
That's pretty funny...whatever they can do to make a buck. I always appreciate the British accent being used to put an "intelligent/fancy" spin on things too. Marketing people really should get more creative, lol...the same old tricks really are quite boring at this point.
