Hustling Views
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to appreciate stopping to take a step back and appreciate not only doing some side work but also beautiful views!
Hustling Views
I know that I've been very fortunate in my life for many things, physically and financially. Recently I was excited to have another financial opportunity to do some extra work and jumped right on it!
These days, one of the most important things is to be able to have multiple streams of income coming in so that we can get ahead and save a little bit of money at the end of the day. I was talking to a colleague several weeks ago and got introduced to another opportunity to make a little bit of money that I talked about in this post so I don't want to rehash that here but today that I'm writing this is my first day at the job, haven't even walked in the building yet. I'm familiar with the area, the interesting thing is that I've worked in this area in the past so thankfully I knew some spots to come by and hang out for a bit before starting work which was great!
What worked out was that I came at the right time, the day and night before we had a decent amount of rain so that meant lots of clouds. Thankfully it was clearing up when I got there and it was that cool transition period between the cloudiness and beautiful clearing up that happens. I can see the cloud front getting pushed out to sea which is pretty damn cool! There's lots of people out in boats looking to get the fishing day started, looking for the various species of fish hanging out in the shipping lane here.
I like to take a step back and appreciate the ability to be in these areas though because it's important to do these things every so often! When we learn to appreciate the small things such as the ability to earn a little extra money in our lives, and get an early start to the day so we can appreciate a nice view, we are in a better position to make it a successful experience. Being the first day at the new job, there's lots to learn such as the location I'm at, where to park, where to walk and a number of other factors. That can be pretty intense sometimes! I knew that I was going to be coming down early so I can become familiar with the area that I'll be. When I punched in the address and saw where it was, I was fairly relieved to see that it was a spot that I was well aware and familiar with! Definitely takes a good amount of pressure off lol.
It's always tough to do these extra shifts and jobs because it takes away from family time but we do what we have to do. I know that my son will understand it one day and hopefully come to appreciate that I worked extra for the family the same way that my dad did growing up. It took him out of the house for sure but these things are what we have to do, particularly in today's economy. Gone are the days of working for one company, 40 hours a week and coming home at 5pm every day to sit on the couch and watch TV or be in the back yard. We are constantly working and although it is difficult it does have the benefits. For me, it gets me to experience new things and new people, each time I go to work I'm meeting new people which is fun. I also get to keep up my skills in one of the jobs that I did years ago but moved onto higher roles and got away from the day-to-day stuff that I do thoroughly enjoy.
I know at the end of the day each of these things is an opportunity to learn new things, meet new people and you never know what benefits those have on us long term. The only thing is to jump at opportunities that could be beneficial, see where they lead and if it works out in a positive way keep at it. Some of the opportunities turn out to be shit but the only way to know that is to do it, and doing it I plan on!
I just hope that I have better luck than these guys fishing, nobody has caught a damn thing this morning and I'm listening to them complain while I'm hanging out here writing this post hahaha.

Awesome work!
Thanks dude, it was great to sit there with a nice view of the ocean while waiting to do some side hustling. Turned out to be a great day, earned some cash and met some new people. Always a good time!
That's an awesome thing all the way around!
It's true. Sometimes it's important to appreciate the ability to earn extra income irrespective of the sacrifice. At least, you're acquiring new skills meeting newer people and having evtra opportunities to make better living. Hopefully better times will come. How's the new work environment?
Thanks dude, the environment was good, great people and hopefully it will be a place that I get to work at fairly regularly.
This kind of weather is raining lightly and the clouds are in the sky in the same way and looking very beautiful.
Yeah it was relaxing!
