Hi fellow Firearms Enthusiasts,

Finally Hit the Range

I was excited to finally get the time to spend at the range! It was a lot of fun and very out-of-the-blue for sure. I was going to head somewhere to do an errand when I said screw it, I'll be heading in that direction so I'm going to hit the range! After approval with the wife though, of course lol. Can't do something for myself without making sure I could do it!

The experience started out a little rough sadly. The place had a bunch of people working and no-one helped people that were just standing there until you stop one of them, which was a bit annoying. What was tough though was even when you were done with the paperwork and stuff, no one still helps you! Wasted 25 minutes standing around watching people who came in before me go in. But I wasn't going to let it dampen my spirit for getting in there!

Bought my targets and then I finally got to my lane and had a bit of the jitters lol. I was accompanied by a full group of people, every lane was full! I was glad to get a spot that's for sure.

I got my stuff set up and was ready for action!

I was super proud of this one, this was at 20 feet! I was shocked that I nailed a bullseye. I was glad that I managed to get things smoothed out but I did see that I was doing things that I knew weren't the best like pointing down as I pull the trigger to compensate for the recoil. Thankfully I don't think I nailed the floor or anything ridiculous hahaha.

This one was at 30 feet! I challenged myself to do targets at 10 feet, 20 feet and 30 feet to see how I could do with them all.

At 20 feet here. I was surprised and happy to see all of the bullseye shots I was able to land! Galen, competition here I come! Lol kidding, at least for now. I don't think competition shooting wouldn't be something I would be opposed to if I could have the time for it.

I was happy to spend nearly an hour at the range!

I didn't realize how much gunpowder gets all over the place when you're shooting hahaha. My fingers were incredibly covered considering that I wasn't doing anything with the powder itself besides shooting.

The gun definitely needs a nice cleaning now! I shot 250 rounds down the chamber which is the single highest number of bullets I've sent down it. It was great, albeit a little expensive but I will definitely buy a case of bullets online after feedback from folks like PFunk and Jacobtothe as well as my dad. I can get a case of 500 bullets for the nearly the same price I paid overall for these rounds. The range thankfully had recycled casings filled anew instead of factory new bullets for cheaper, 27$ a box. Not as good as the 18 but better than the 36$ I paid at the store I went to a few weeks ago lol

I put the targets down so that I could keep a record of the work I did with them. I'm pretty proud of the shots that I'm able to make! Here was my 30 foot target.

The one for 20 feet was what I was pretty happy with. I know that as things get further it gets a little harder to keep things consistent and near the center of the target. I think with some more practice I can improve this! Granted, I don't necessarily know the specifics of how I was shooting like pointing to the right and stuff but still pretty happy.

I know that 10 feet isn't too far but I was shocked by the time I was finished at how consistent I was able to keep it near the bullseye! I fired 50 shots at this one and the 20 foot one and 150 at the 30 foot one I think.

All in all, I had so much fun! There were some incredible people there shooting. The guy next to me was definitely a marksman, the range officer complimented him on his shots! I think if that happens you are a pretty damn good shot. The guy had a paper plate and put a sticker in the middle of it and was able to get bullseye in the sticker at 20 feet I think, if not 30 feet. At one point we were both at 30 feet but I don't remember if he was getting that consistency at that range or not.

There were also some crazy ass guns too, 3 AR 15's that I know of, those fuckers are loud LOL even with headphones on, the vibration it causes in the air at an inside range is wild. I think they were using 5.56 ammo, though don't quote me on that.

One of the next times I go to the range I'm definitely going to see if I can rent one of the guns. There were a couple crazy automatics that people were playing with! These guys dropped 800$ on some awesome guns to rent and it looked like so much fun lol. I'm satisfied with what I've got for sure, glad to have something in my personal possession!

Awesome job and I would stay away from remanufactured bullets myself.

If you look fine print most firearms companies will not cover any damages made by remanufactured ammunition. And usually remanufactured ammunition is quite a bit less expensive for that reason.

Actually I just got a Zev 16 inch and 10.5 inch AR 15 upper.

So I really can't wait to show those off a little more. That is when ammo starts coming down to reasonable prices.

Anyway hopefully you have an amazing day. Keep up that excellent training. When the end of the world hits those skills will be absolutely necessary.

And be careful of overly scrubbing your chamber and barrel as that is the biggest wear and damage to the accuracy of the firearm.

Personally I just use wipes and clean off the carbon. Reassemble and oil.

And I definitely stay away from brass brushes.

It was my first time using reloaded ammo, so thankfully lesson learned the easy way instead of the hard way. Of course they sell it for a lot cheaper hehe.

I don't aggressively clean it, I think I might have used the brass thing once but favored the cloth tabs dry and one with a tiny bit of the oil on it. It's been a while since I cleaned it though! I have to remember how to take it apart now lol.

Awesome on getting the portions of the AR! I'm really hoping that I can get the chance to shoot my dads again soon, those things are awesome! Hopefully we can do an outdoor range as well so I get to use the shotgun, never used one of those before.

When shit hits the fan, knowing our way around firearms is going to be crucial! I am much happier being prepared than caught unawares. Not going to go wild with prep stuff but just being able to be comfortable with my equipment is important!

Thanks for checking it out man!

Absolutely phenomenal job man.

And it's kind of amazing I have ended up with the ability to shoot 556 300 blackout 762x39 Soviet as well as the huge 458 socom.

I have everything from small, medium X2, and large game covered.

Actually with this package I can pretty much go to Alaska and Hunt everything from small to large game with ease.

Oddly enough I just started buying parts and things just accumulated. And now I'm sitting on top of this huge package.

Oh by the way excellent work on the target practice.

When the end of the world comes there will be a distinct lack of zombies around you..

Keep adding to your stockpile and train as often as you can.

By the way you can also get a BB pistol as well as BB gun to do regular throughout the week practice at a very low cost in your own home.

Looks like some solid minute-of-bad-guy accuracy. I need a lot more ammo and a lot more range time. I don't do new Year's Resolutions, but it is one of my goals.
