Dream Home

Hi fellow Outdoorsmen,

We spent some time in a place recently where they had this amazing log home right on the property!

Dream Home

I don't know if it's getting older or what but I've come to really love the classic architecture of the pioneer days of America. The log cabins are really an absolutely beautiful way to build a house I think!

I know there are some issues with log homes and some serious things you have to pay attention to but this one seems to have been done really well. They insulated it well and seems to have done a really great job at keeping it in good condition!

I didn't want to look too weird so I didn't go around the entire building and snap some photos but damn this building was amazing! Those giant, old growth trees that were used to create the home are awesome for sure!

Overall I am very glad that we happened to take a stop at this place, it's one of the really awesome things about being outside and looking for things to do. You can stumble upon some really awesome things like this!

I got to live a summer living in a cabin and working on fire crew. It was fun.

The problem with the cabin is that it dictated all of my vacations. So, I gave up on the wood cabin in favor of a tent.

That’s awesome! I’ve never gotten the chance to spend a night in a lot home sadly, though it’s on my bucket list! It would be a bit of a hindrance if you’re looking to go out and do some camping for sure, but it’s a good hindrance I think lol

Don't tell me you scheduled this post :P I have seen log houses one or two hours away from Toronto. There were quite a few near Quebec as well. I never went in and I don't know if we can survive winter in there. I would love to spend my lazy afternoon in one of these with a cup of freshly brewed coffee :)

Hahah of course I did man! I need to keep up, though I’m slowing down on the ones I have scheduled. Going to try and hammer out a few posts today so that I can stay ahead of the game!

If the log home is insulated well enough, they are warmer than regular homes can be! Those lots are crazy thick so it provides a hell of a lot of protection from the elements if they seal the edges and stuff the way it looks like they did here. The only tough part is doing any electrical wiring, since often you need to cut holes and stuff.

I passed a full year a few days ago, so 375 now I think? Lol

The Presearch tokens are awesome! I only keep the tally there so people can see that it is worth some money and Google gets you absolutely nothing lol

I'm like...

Now I wanna know @galenkp's streak. Galen, care to chime in?

(this is me changing the subject)

Our fancy ass car left us stranded last night dude, what a trip that was. It's a big ass computer is what it is, lot less car, more PC. Strange town, etc etc and the tow truck was late. It got dark and they were still an hour away.

Knocking on a garage door in The South in the dark in the middle of nowhere is Not recommended, we had Pura's little 32 but wtf's that gonna do?! But I'd rolled the fucking window down a little earlier and it got freezing!! It was so cold. I had no choice. You know what though?

Hm. Now that I'm bla bla bla'ing about it I think maybe I should put it together in article format.

Indeed. Who would have thought a dumb ass small-town country boy like me had so much to say? I think people stopped reading a long while back though.

And the way you say it makes us keep an eye out for you.

You haven't.. Eh, have you posted every single day without a miss since registering here?

Nah, not every single day, but so many days in a row that I have no clue. It's not something I track. Every week for hundreds of weeks Hive Buzz has awarded me a badge for posting every day for the week. I'm not sure how many I have, I'll check in a bit for you and edit this comment.

EDIT:

There you go.

183 weekly author and 30 months monthly author. I have no clue how many days in a row I've posted but I reckon I've only missed a small handful over my time here.

Nah, I don't think so. I guess if I'm going to do something I do it well, or to the best of my ability. It's been enjoyable so yeah, 1.5 posts per day on average over every single day I've been on Hive. Has been enjoyable.

Hahah that sucks man, getting stuck in the cold weather isn’t fun for sure! What kind of car is it? The things are absolutely all computer and no car. People are chomping at the bit for self driving cars and shit. Hell fucking no! More things to go terribly wrong and not to mention the hacking.

It's a Subaru Outback, only a few years old now. When we finally got it back home last night we found a discussion forum and it's not just us. Apparently MANY people have experienced the same issue where the back latch sensor doesn't disengage at some point so it thinks it's open and drains the battery.

Trip out. The car just started beeping like crazy. Like a back up alarm but not really cuz the whole car was beeping. Did that for miles. Stopped at a private house turned medical office cuz there was a parking lot, turned the car off and the rest is history.

Damn that sucks! We have a Subaru ourselves and it was a car I’ve dreamed of owning..until owning one. We dislike the car so much now it’s sad lol. My wife could drive the thing off a cliff and be happy it was gone, when we move to Florida we are totally getting rid of it lol not needing all wheel drive anymore

The old architecture are always beautiful. We need more of it.

Yeah I totally agree! I can't stand the "contemporary" shit like completely white rooms and buildings. Screw that! Lol

It's too much like it came out of a box from some factory. The older architecture had character and personality

Yeah I totally agree with that! Character is a great way to describe it.
