A Sunday morning dedicated to the rediscovery of the verdant area called Padula, a protected space where animals can safely stop without any danger and enjoy the favorable environment that surrounds us. In the past this stretch of coast was freely accessible and, as often happens, man abuses everything around him.

Environmental associations have fought to transform this area into a protected natural place, access to humans is granted only at certain times of the day, in order to preserve the life of the animals. The Padula is a nature reserve where migratory birds punctually stop during the season: specimens such as pink storks, for example, nest here for a few weeks, waiting to move again with the little ones.

The ** Padula ** is also characterized by an important spring water, deriving from the internal mountain range a few tens of kilometers away. It runs through a long underground section and flows out a few meters from the sea. Here a small artificial pond is characteristic, an ideal place also for some typical plants such as reeds for example, among which entire families of toads and small amphibians hide. Some freshwater fish have been introduced to keep the aquatic environment clean from the many insects that appear during the summer season, primarily the annoying mosquitoes.

A small paradise where man is welcome only as a spectator, here you can learn a lot of useful information about the functioning of the ecosystem. Compliance with the rules is essential for the protection of the territory, ensuring that nature is always the protagonist. On the other hand, we can only learn from nature and our very lives depend on it.

Una domenica mattina dedicata alla riscoperta della zona verdeggiante chiamata Padula, uno spazio protetto dove gli animali possono tranquillamente sostare senza alcun pericolo e godere del favorevole ambiente che ci circonda. In passato questo tratto di costa era ad accesso libero e, come spesso accade, l'uomo abusa di tutto ciò che ha attorno a se.

Le associazioni ambientaliste hanno combattuto per trasformare questa zona in un luogo naturale protetto, l'accesso all'uomo è concesso solo in alcuni momenti della giornata, al fine di preservare la vita degli animali. La Padula è una riserva naturale dove gli uccelli migratori sostano puntualmente durante la stagione: esemplari come le cicogne rose ad esempio qui nidificano per alcune settimane, in attesa di spostarsi nuovamente con i più piccoli.

La Padula è caratterizzato anche da un'importante acqua sorgiva, derivante dalla catena montuosa interna distante alcune decine di chilometri. Percorre un lingo tratto sotterraneo e sgorga a pochi metri dal mare. Qui è caratteristico un piccolo stagno artificiale, luogo ideale anche per alcune piante tipiche come il canneto ad esempio, tra cui si nascondono intere famiglie di rospi e piccoli anfibi. Alcuni pesci di acqua dolce sono stati introdotti per mantenere l'ambiente acquatico pulito dai tanto insetti che appaiono durante la stagione estiva, in primis le fastidiose zanzare.

Un piccolo paradiso in cui l'uomo è benvenuto solo come spettatore, qui si possono apprendere molte utili informazioni sul funzionamento dell'ecosistema. Il rispetto delle regole è fondamentale per la salvaguardia del territorio, garantendo che la natura sia sempre la protagonista. D'altronde dalla natura possiamo solo imparare e da essa dipende la nostra stessa vita.
