We need to be mentally active

Most times when we see people, we don't know what they are going through or what is going on in their minds. If we have the capability to hear what people think in their mind, I'm sure our head will not be able to contain it. People pay attention to physical wellness than mental health because many of us hide our problems inside us which cannot be seen except shared with others
Image sourceOur mental health has to do with our emotional, psychological and social well being. The way we think and act has a lot to do with our mental health. When you see some people act irrationally, it's because of what they feel or how they feel at that particular time. Their mind controls them to act in such manner. Most people might see this actions as what happens once in a while when a person is angry or sad, which is not a wrong notion, but are they really doing anything to make that person feel good at that particular time
A lot of things can cause us to behave otherwise. Trauma, abuse, poverty and so on can cause mental instability. We mostly see this as a normal reaction and pay no much attention to it. In some developed countries, when a person starts action strange, a psychologist is recommended for him or her to see into the mental health issues. In Nigeria, this hardly happens. To cope with the happenings in the country, we need to be mentally fit. If you are dealing with people and your mind is far from what you should pay attention to, you will blame yourself at the end of the day. We must always be mentally fit to cope with the societal issues
Some of us will go to work as early as 5 AM in the morning and come back around 10 AM in the night. This repeats itself everyday and we have a limited time to rest. This stress can affect us mentally if we don't pay attention to how we stress the body and live our daily lives
If you are in Nigeria and working far away from your home, there is no how you will not pass through daily stress. Is it the traffic we want to talk about or the work load in the office? It's crazy. I leave my house very early every morning and return late at night. I know people who close late in the night, get caught in traffic till 4 AM, and return back to work without getting home. That's Lagos life if you live far from your place of work. The scenario of daily activities looks like there's no time to rest, but I really take my time to rest well before dawn. I work so I need to eat well too. It's a way to keep myself mentally fit. Good food helps the brain and keep us fit mentally. I also take time to engage in activities that makes me happy when I'm less busy. This life is too short for us not to enjoy ourselves when we have the time and the resources. I make myself happy to reduce my stress and stay healthy mentally. We all need to be mentally active and sound to do things right. Without the right mind, it would be difficult to cope with people with different characters and attitudes

I don’t like to bring in Nigeria when I’m talking about mental health, because growing up as an adult in Nigeria leaves one with many mental issues they don’t even know due to how upside down things are ran in Nigeria and how many have gotten used to it. Everyone living in Nigeria should do anything they can to have a healthy mental health
We have mental issues choke my brother. There's no single Nigerian that is left out because of the way the country has affected us. As a matter of fact, we are all just trying to make ourselves happy the best way we can and I think that's the only thing that keeps most of us going.

You are absolutely right with this lovely piece, mental wellness should be our topmost priority because if we ignored it, then the body will start deteriorating which might lead to death. So taking good care of our mental wellness is very important for our survival
