Born day and death day. This life is so funny.
I was just thinking about life and something struck my mind. Do we live once, and die once. Is this the first life we've ever existed, and would it be the last
These are questions that many people would see from a different perspective. But what I really want to talk about is the fact that there are two stages in life where we would never understand what's going on when people merry over our existence and departure
The day of birth
I don't know how other traditions do a naming ceremony in another part of the world, but we here, celebrate with happiness. The parent would kill goat, ram, or cow and cook for a large number of people that attend the naming ceremony. People would eat and make merry. They would all pray for the child and that's all. But the child can never know anything going on. He/she would be on the mother's hand sucking breast or sleeping on the cradle
The day of death
When we die, people would cry and be sad. But after some time, the sadness will wear away. The tradition of doing burial ceremonies is conversant with the African people. They kill cow and make merry after the dead is buried. Just as they do during the naming ceremony. The dead cannot know and will never partake. It's funny
Conclusion
When you are born, you cannot participate in the merriment, and when you're dead, the same is applicable. Or have you seen where a newborn child eats from the food prepared from the naming ceremony, or where the dead eat meat during the burial ceremony
Born day and death day will always remain important moments in our lives. No one would speak ill of you when you are born because you've not done anything, but when you are gone, people will talk about what you did. Let it sink
