I got it! Yes.
I will never forget it. I went to visit my dear and great friend, Flor. We hadn’t seen each other for a while because she was out of the country for about 5 months, in Peru, visiting her daughter. When she returned at the end of last year, we agreed to meet to catch up on everything we had done. She told me she had a surprise for me, a present.

image.png

She doesn’t drink coffee, she prefers infusions. When she saw me she immediately said… My friend, I made you coffee and brought you a gift package. She was so happy and excited, because she knows how much I like to drink coffee…
Well… what a bad coffee! I think it was called Tuni, if I remember correctly. When I tried it, she looked at me and said:
-So, how is it?

I didn’t know what to say. I had coffee in my mouth and it wouldn't go down my throat... God, what a bad coffee!
We just stared at each other... and then we burst out laughing and all the coffee came out of my mouth and I spilled it all over him...
That moment was truly memorable... We laughed so hard that I fell to the floor. We still remember that moment and we still laugh...

I can imagine the compromise, she so lovingly brought you that coffee so you didn't want to tell her it was horrible, but thank goodness it all ended in a great joke and I know that every time you see each other you will remember it and laugh again, hahaha...😄😅😁

Hello @tibilopez, greetings.
Yes, she knows about my taste in coffee...
You can't imagine deep down how I feel...sorry.
Thank you that we both watched and knew, we knew what was happening and we knew we had to laugh.

ha, ha ha, ha, it was the first and last time something like this happened to me...my dear friend. For me the most important thing was her gesture and also that she remembered how much I like coffee.😍🤩☕

Bad coffee, good intentions, and good friends is fun, though not yummy. Something similar happened to me, but it was with guarapita; my friend was so sure I would love it 🤫

It is a great souvenir for a beautiful friendship. In this life there are people with good intentions but unfortunately they prepare a horrible coffee, what can you do. If you don't drink coffee it is more likely to happen 🤣

A perfect time to share this funny anecdote about coffee which was so funny that I can't stop laughing at it whenever I remember it.

It was one particular day that I intended to do a lot of work and planned to work throughout the night (at least till 2 am) because I was determined to achieve my target. I had eaten much food that had my stomach bloated and I was uncomfortable with myself. I wanted to be productive to a certain level and so, I thought to take coffee.

20240624_144510.jpg

I prepared my coffee since I knew it would do the work of making me stay awake and active. The magic was working after some minutes but I realised my stomach started rumbling. I went to the toilet to poo and by the time I returned, I was so weak and my eyes were dimming. I took my phone but couldn't find anything to do. I thought of lying down in bed, perhaps I would rest for a while, then get up and work, only for me to hear my alarm sound at 5 am when I had laid down around 8 pm the previous day. When I remember what happened that night, I laughed at my silly self 🤪 😅

You cannot cheat nature, even a coffee cannot 😂

ha, ha, ha, ha, I lost the ability to do that...stay up to that hour working. I prefer to go to bed and get up in the early morning.

Hello friends, I hope you are all well. I have several memories, but I want to share one with you that was very unpleasant but at the same time very funny.

A few years ago, my mother was hospitalized in a clinic in Valencia, one of my sisters and I spent the night with her, at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon other relatives came to visit her, taking advantage of the fact that she would not be alone, I proposed to my sister to go to the café of the clinic to have a coffee and so we did.

We ordered two large lattes, when we took them to the table they looked very good and frothy, my sister drinks coffee without sugar, on the contrary I like it sweet, so I put two spoonfuls of sugar and stirred it very well.

IMG_20200307_161321.jpg

When I tasted the first sip it was horrible, I could not contain myself and spit it out, what a shame, my sister asked me what happened to me, it turns out that it was super salty, we could not stand the laughter but at the same time annoyed we complained to the waiter, who apologized, brought us mineral water and two new coffees, the one who came out better was my sister who drank another coffee without paying for it, hahaha.

We went up to the room, we told everyone present what happened to us and everyone had a good laugh, since then that anecdote stayed in the family forever, every time they see us they ask us if we want coffee with salt or sugar, hahaha! My sister says that thank God she has always had coffee without sugar.... 😃☕️😋

A coffee with too much salt, that sounds really bad, I can imagine your face when you try that coffee. The important thing is that they drank it with a very funny attitude. I think the free coffee was to make up for the poor service.🤭

I leave you a cup of coffee for this day.☕

Hahaha 😀 how on earth would they mix salt in coffee? But you know, it becomes funny and fun when experienced together with someone, as in your case, with your sister.
I love how the waiter had to apologised and compensated with another coffee and mineral water. That's how it's supposed to be. You sure had great moment then.

You made me remember my mom. At home the containers of sugar and salt were the same. We could all tell them apart easily, but she always put salt in her coffee.

The good thing is also to laugh at the bad, @tibilopez

I used to rely on Nescafé coffee to stay awake, especially during exam periods, so I could study through the night. One day, I decided to skip studying during the day and instead planned to drink my coffee at night to keep myself awake and burn the midnight candle.

As night fell, I drank my Nescafé, confident it would keep me alert. Despite feeling a bit drowsy, I was determined to study, trusting the coffee to do its job. But as soon as I lay down on my bed, the next thing I knew, someone was waking me up to get ready for my exam. I was so disappointed , it felt like a dream. I ended up going into the exam blank and, unfortunately, resorted to some questionable methods to get through it.

This happened to me as well, I couldn't cope I had to sleep for a while, I slept in class like a newborn baby my friends woke me up when it was time to go to the hostel and prepare for the exam, they said they woke me and I shouted at them and I didn't know when I did that. We can never cheat nature

That's how it is. Because of the brain stimulation of caffeine...but for some very regular coffee drinkers, like me, it doesn't work. Coffee no longer keeps me up at night.
I guess it happens to other people too...that depends on how your body processes caffeine, @juwon-btc

oh I will always try to stay up late and study for my exams, but I used to refuse to have caffeine in the evenings, so I will try to sleep by 1 o'clock and get up at five in the morning and make sure I had a good cup of coffee in me so that I would have a minimum of three hours to go through and revise everything. ✨ I hope you answered the exam in a better condition. Being blank for the exam is definitely no fun. Sleep comes through your body and it can just take over.

Having a coffee date with my friends give me the energy that recharge me a bit and laugh with them all you want. Whenever we go to coffee shops with my close friends, it's always the question "what to order". All of my close friends were not familiar on the taste of the coffee's but we tried to understand and familiarize the taste of coffee drinks.

One time when we went to a coffee shop we choose three different drinks for us. When the drinks arrived, no label on each cup so we just identify each based on its look. Say, "this is my order because of its look, and that is your order, and so on".

When we taste it, it's a little bit different to what we expect, so I told one of my friends maybe we interchanged our orders because mine had a strong taste while on her side she said it's too sweet for her. So we exchanged our cup.

On the other hand, my nephew together with her friend arrived and order the same as mine. When orders arrived, I had a funny reaction because it's the same cup I gave to my friend which I'm guessing it's not mine because of the different taste I'm expecting.

Reality hits us and we just laugh with our experience. We were guessing based on the look and the "feeling expert". Then we realized we should ask the waiter to label what cup of drink it is to not interchange again next time. 🤔

It always happens when we go to a cafe, it's almost normal for orders to get mixed up and for some people to take what others order. Many times you have to take it on the nice side, we don't want an angry waiter.🤭

I leave you a cup of coffee for this day.☕

I do not have many anecdotes, but, I remember one in particular, I went with my husband and one of my children to visit some friends, as it is customary in my town, they offered us a cup of coffee ☕.

The friend served me and my husband first, and she was about to get the child's coffee, but my husband immediately tasted it and realized that it was bad 😁 and said: no, don't worry, I'll give him mine, there's enough here, hahaha, I immediately understood that he didn't like it.

She gave the coffee to the boy, and as a boy does not know how to dissimulate, she said: I don't like it, it's bad 🥴 there was an uncomfortable silence, I tried to dissimulate and I drank mine, which was really bad 😁, my friend smiled and said: "no problem" 😁.

The situation was quite uncomfortable, but later we visited again and they offered us another one, this one was really tasty 😁.

Oh, it's so embarrassing! It's happened to me with food. Never with coffee. For some reason, I never put much attention to the quality of coffee if the hosts are nice; it doesn't affect me at all. But I must say, I rarely have anything to drink or eat at someone else's place unless we're really close.

Excellent Sunday of conversation coffee lovers.

I come to participate in the weekly conversation of our beloved coffee group. Once I had an anecdote that at the time did not seem funny to me, I went to have coffee with a friend and at the coffee shop where we went they gave us a very unpleasant latte. My friend called the waitress and told her about the coffees, the waitress looked at her very badly, she gave us new coffees, but I told my friend that it was better to pay and let's go. You should never make a waiter angry. We paid without tasting the coffee and left, then we joked about whether the waiter spit in the cups or spilled something nasty on them.🤭

That was one of many experiences with coffee and as a piece of advice, never make the waiter angry because it can be worse. I will keep reading you with your anecdotes in the comments.☕

Great start of the week!

I hope she did not do any of those things to the cup of coffee. But yes, never anger a waiter. You never know the kind of revenge that they will be planning. I hope you get a better cup of coffee next time in case of this unpleasant latte that you got. ☕️🥹

Hey everyone, I’m Lynn Mascarenhas, a fourth-generation coffee planter with an estate in Karnataka, India. 👩🏻‍🌾 I have a funny memory from two years ago that always gets me laughing.

Our coffee harvest kicks off in December when we hand-pick the red cherries at their peak ripeness. After gathering them, we sort out anything yellow or green to ensure only the best beans go into the processing.

So, here’s the hilarious part 🤣 while we were sorting out the yellow cherries from the red ones, a lady on our team was caught sneaking some cherries into her dress pocket. She must have been really hungry because she was popping them into her mouth. The minute I spotted her, she would stop munching and it was like the perfect comedic timing when even the guy who was processing our coffees caught her in the act.

When I told my mom about the incident, she casually mentioned she knew the lady quite well. Apparently, she had a knack for “borrowing” food from other people’s homes and had some hormonal issues that made her constantly hungry, no matter how much she ate. So, it turns out the cherry heist was just part of her ongoing snack saga! 🍒

Hello friends! I had a friend with whom there was a time when I shared a lot, social outings, meals with friends and so on; but there came a time when that changed because of the routines of each one. Then, one day we agreed to go out for a coffee at least, but time went by and we never made that coffee. Many of those who knew about that unfulfilled promise, every time we agreed to do something, they told me: "This is going to happen, be careful with doing the same with the promised coffee with ...." because you agreed on that and none of you kept that word, they said it as an anecdote and so it remained among my group of friends, as the promised coffee that never came hehehehehehe. Greetings friends!

There are some anecdotes related to coffee that have become good moments and bring a smile to my face when I remember them, but today I am going to tell you one that happened to me yesterday and although it makes me a little embarrassed I know no better way to overcome this feeling than to put a touch of humor on it and let it go, especially when it is embarrassment with oneself.

Yesterday I woke up very early and when I left the room, supposedly ready to start the new day, I set up my coffee pot to get my precious brew. I prepare everything, put it on the stove, turn on the stove and while the transformation happens, I go to the workroom, turn on the computer and go back to the kitchen, put away some dry utensils that were left out of place the night before and the coffee pot starts to ring. The coffee is ready.

I reach for my cup and pour myself the first coffee of the day. Horror. It was water! I hadn't put the coffee in the pot. There alone, I laughed and said to myself with a bit of irony: thank goodness you were ready to eat the world and full attention on what you are doing. Keep it up, keep it up! 🙃🙃🙃😋😆😆😆

😂😂😂😂 excuse me for laughing.... don't be durs with yourself 🤭🤭🤭🤭.... It happens to all of us. I once offered coffee to the visitor, went to the kitchen but never stopped paying attention to the conversation in the living room. I supposedly assembled the coffee in the electric coffee maker. The thing is that when the visitor was leaving we remembered that we had not had coffee. Upon entering the kitchen to serve the precious dark liquid, it turns out that I forgot to turn on the coffee maker. The visitor left that day without her promised cup of coffee 🤭🤭🤭🤭....

Hope you have a great week and that you remember to put the coffee in the pot ☺️☕💜

Hey, coffee friends!

Hope your having a great Monday. I finally remembered an anecdote while playing Scrabble and sipping coffee with one of favorite people who's come to visit me 😌❤️

I don't know how many years ago, maybe almost 20, I used to wear fancy long-sleeved blouses to work; there was one that had a cloth belt sewn on the side of the waist; it was really, really long. You had to tie it around 4 times and then I knot it and tie a bow on it. I wore it that fateful day...

We had returned from the university; I drove my sister home. I got off for coffee and while we drank it, we talked quietly... my allergic sensitivity is high to dust mites and animal hair, so when I felt the need to scratch my back several times over the course of almost half an hour, I didn't find it strange.
Oh my, it was a cockroach! It had crawled inside my blouse and had been playing on my back for almost half an hour. Yuck! I jumped up and started to untie what felt like twenty yards of belt.

And my sister, well, no doubt she was laughing her a** out 😒

🤢 I hate cockroaches 🤢 what an unpleasant experience, I hope the coffee was delicious to make up for it... I'll change the subject so I don't remember that intruder on your back:

My cousin once served coffee. And for some strange reason she put salt in it instead of sugar..... Everyone spit out the coffee and she swore she put sugar in it. Since then we call her the salty coffee girl and we never let her be in charge of making the coffee again ....

Roaches are the worst.

Salt in your coffee on the other hand is just gross on another level 😏

My grandmother was a very traditional woman. She had 10 children and worked very hard to give them a good life. She had many rules and regulations that had to be followed to the letter, as they say.

One of those rules was to follow the cooking instructions in the kitchen. Whenever a visitor came to his house, he would send one of his sons to prepare the coffee. The instructions were exactly the same. One afternoon the visitor arrived and called my mother, who would have been 12 years old at the time.

But before my grandmother could say the first word, the visitor interrupted and gave the instructions verbatim. Everyone already knew the script 🤭🤭🤭🤭 ..... From then on it was a joke that was passed down from generation to generation.

Funny! My granny made her coffee strong, always using the same method, I guess; I watched her from the dining room. But my mother, oh, despite she always used the same moka pot and the same coffee, the result was never the same 😄 It was like gambling.

Hahahaha ....coffee things! My mother says that the kettle for boiling water was made of red pewter with white polka dots. That's what made the instructions curious: take the red teapot with white polka dots and measure 2 cups of water..... The visitor already knew it by heart.

I was delighted to read this. My mom also had her own rules for making coffee and of course they are unique and exclusive instruments to them

Greetings my friends.
I hope you like it as much as I do, one of many stories with coffee.
Just meeting my husband we went out and shared a coffee, but we did not sit at the table but decided to see what was in the windows of the mall where we were. I am very absent-minded and the coffee I had a straw to stir the sugar but in the talking and chatting I seemed to forget the function of the straw and what I did was to drink the hot coffee through it. I have given myself a tremendous burn, even though I tried to diminish it my husband noticed but he just smiled so I wouldn't grieve any more.
From then on I am more aware of what I drink and eat.

Wow. I hope it burn too much. I so feel you I've done that with soups before. So nice of your husband to just try to laugh it off. 🫶🏻☕️
