Every coffee lover needs one of these...
I bought a few days ago a coffee mug... It has a silicone lid. I never knew what this lid was for until the mug came home with me.
It turns out that the lid keeps the heat inside and the coffee doesn't get cold until I finish drinking it. It also maintains the flavor and it is impressive to feel the preservation capacity that this lid has.
It has become my favorite cup in a short time. I wish that all mugs could have this silicone lid accessory.

I'm always tempted to buy a new mug... I saw these at a store a couple of months ago:
I have this habit of holding a mug in my hand and, for a minute, fantasize about pouring my morning coffee in it. It's an affair, the kind that is forbidden. We meet at the store and share a short but passionate moment. He tells me he wants me; I tell him I have a husband waiting for me at home, to check my purchase and make sure no mug has come between us again 🤭
The thing is that there are many mugs in the house already, and it does feel healthy to buy more, but if the mug is a gift... Well, I can't be blamed! 😁
This is my newest mug. It was a Christmas gift from one of my nephews (who is also my godson). I love it! Makes me feel like the witch I always wanted to be 😼
It's big. I think it holds 400 ml. It's too big for my black coffee, so I keep it for plant based latte and tea. So it seems I can't be a full-time witch.
Haha, your nephew is a big prankster. The cup is very pretty, I really like that red and the wonderful legend. I hope the witch's cup doesn't come between husband and wife.

The truth is that your mug collection is amazing and large. However, I understand your predilection as that of the collector. There will always be a new one that you want. However, it is true that you have to select because it is easier to buy than to say goodbye to one that has already entered the family.

Since the thieves took my moka pots from dad's house back in 2006, I was discouraged to continue collecting them. Now, because of the money issue, it's quite difficult to start over. And although a mug collection is much more affordable, there's the issue of space. The truth is that I'm not really into collecting anymore, at least not at the moment. There are enough mugs at home, more than we need, inherited from different friends and relatives who have left the country. Nothing memorable, to be honest; the ones I really like are my own, some of which are almost 25 years old:

In our household, nobody is playing this role (both me and my wife, we excuse each other our little weaknesses - and that's why our house is filled to the roof with a piles of different stuff, hehe. no minimalism!)
Your full-time witch cup is nice - the shape and size is ideal for drinking hot mulled wine in winter. But for coffee I prefer smaller cups.

My everyday cup is a lot smaller. It holds 200 ml only if you fill it to the very top.

I often hear this saying from my mother, "Human body is not a log of wood". What did she mean? She was trying to tell me that the human body suffers stress and can crash unlike a log of wood that, if positioned to stand, can stand forever without falling.
Last Friday, I was very sick and tired. Since my body is not a log of wood, the stress from the week pulled me down. I suffered severe pain. It was so late in the night that my brother couldn't go out to any pharmacy. He thought of what he do to help relieve the pain. He decided to make coffee for me.
I drank the coffee and it helped me.
We purchased a new coffee mug and I was the first to launch it. I felt like the sickness wanted me to use the mug first.
The day I went with my brother to the market to purchase this mug, it was raining and we got wet and returned home late.
The pains were gone just an hour after sipping the warm coffee in our new mug. It's now my favorite mug because I believe it saved me my pains.
I used to have strong migraines often when I was a teenager; I remember I had my pills with a cup of black coffee for a more intense effect. Coffee really helps if you're not the kind who can't sleep after drinking it. I can sleep like a baby after sipping an evening coffee. You?

Seems we share same experiences. I remember when I wanted to take my qualification examinations, I didn't sleep throughout that period, I often burn the night candle to read. Coffee was my best companion as I am a kind that loves to sleep. I and my friends we tagged the
"coffee clique". Almost half of our pocket money was spent on coffee and it later paid off as my friends and I graduated with excellent results. I often say that coffee is my best friend then.

It's a ceramic mug, so I'm always careful when I handle it.
When I had to study until late hours, I had a cup of coffee with a coke. That did keep me awake! 🚀

I think you get attached to a mug by use, and then you associate positive states and rewarding activities with them. I prefer my morning coffee in a small, clear mug and associate them with that placid moment of waking up and finding out about WhatsApp. However, I have often been to cultural events where people drink lots of coffee in small plastic cups. I have never been fond of those.
Reading you I remembered a time when coffee was the only thing that relieved my cough in the middle of the night. Enjoy your cup of good coffee @captainman
We usually don’t use coffee mugs for traveling, because when coffee is hot, it tends to lose its taste quality quite fast. We drink our coffee fresh brewed only!
But I have a special attitude towards the coffee cups and espresso shots.
Currently I am happy with my coffee cups, especially with the hand crafted Japanese ones, but whenever I am at some shop I continue seeking for new ones.
I feel that I need more cups for espresso, but the ones that I usually like are quite pricey. I still have these cheap, clear glass double wall shots, but they just don’t feel right. 😁
If I have the chance to get a discount on these I will most probably grab them instantly! Their regular price is about $40 for a set of two.
I love your Japanese mugs, but you know that already 🤭 About that last couple of cups, 40$ it's too expensive if you ask me, but the heart knows what the heart wants. I love the shape! It seems like the can concentrate the aroma and keep the temperature.
I also think that $40 is quite too much for a pair of espresso cups, but who knows… maybe one day some muse will hit me and I will spend these money on them. Or I will wait for a 50% discount… 😁

I'm actually on a strict no-more-cups policy, as I already have plenty. However, I was recently stuck waiting at a mall for a friend for over an hour and when I saw this little beauty on discount, I couldn't help myself. I love bears, and the message on the inside to me was heartening. It's a freakishly big mug, actually, probably around 400 ml, so I use it mostly for teas, actually. That way, I don't feel so bad. I may have several coffee mugs, but I don't have a tea mug :D

In my town it dawned raining, in fact I had a commitment to give some private math classes and I had to cancel because of the rain ⛈️, perfect weather for a good cup of coffee 🙂 although at this time I still haven't had any because my husband is asleep, last night we went to bed late in a church activity, and I like in the morning is the coffee that my husband prepares, so I'll keep waiting, hahaha.
I like glass or porcelain coffee mugs, but, there is a problem they break a lot 🤦 and I always have to buy again, right now I have a special mug that some high school students gave me, which is my favorite, I think the fact that they took the trouble to give me a mug is because there is some appreciation towards their teacher!
Well I tell you that I was about to publish the comment, when my husband got up and made a delicious coffee ☕, hehehehe so, I already drank my first cup of the day, my cup has a capacity of about 400ml but, for coffee ☕ I use it almost half🤦, when it is coffee with milk I fill it a little more hehehehe.

I have 4 cups that I use at different times of the day because a good coffee drinker must have enough cups, since drinking coffee is an art. This was the last one I bought, one afternoon when we went out to the mall. I chose it because its size and transparency are incredible; This way I not only perceive the aroma, I also look at the color and density of the mysterious and magical liquid. On the other hand, when I have to do very long jobs and I need to concentrate without getting up from my seat, this cup works for me, because I only serve myself once and I can spend the time I need sitting down savoring the warmth of my freshly ground and brewed coffee.
Your cup is very nice, what you say is true, each cup projects the coffee in different ways, the aroma, the flavor have a different nuance.

Your large clear mug version is very nice. I have one just like it, which I use almost every day in the morning.
Now that you mention it, it's a good strategy to have enough coffee around when you work. I usually use small cups for black coffee, which is what I drink every day. Come to think of it, I drink my coffee very slowly, so a small cup lasts me a while. Maybe small coffees when I work give me the opportunity to get up and follow my natural inability to sit still for long periods of time. Happy Sunday coffee, sister!

I don't know if I can talk about a new cup. The truth is that I have not used it. It was a gift last Christmas from my sister Sandra and my nephew Andres Manuel, a mug that reflects a motif I love: cats. I was very happy to receive it and I have it on my table.💗
It has many qualities that I like. It is pleasant to hold in your hands because of its texture, it is good for keeping warm and it is very pretty. However, I have not found occasion to use it because of its size, it is really big. So waiting to have a special coffee with my sisters, where we can have a homemade capuccino with cream or a coffee ice cream, time has passed.
When I got it as a gift it came with some delicious chocolate bonbons that I did eat in the next two days....
As you can see, my everyday cups are usually small for two reasons: not to overindulge and to feel like I have a full cup!
A beautiful cup of coffee, I really like kittens. The sweets were surely very delicious. A cup like this should be reserved for special occasions.

Those mugs were huge! I loved them as soon as I saw them. Mine was the witchy one, hehe. I have used mine several times for latte and tea. I had chicken soup there last time 😂

I was in a store and as always I do not stop looking at the coffee mugs although I rarely buy them since I have enough, however I loved the cat design of this one, plus I thought it was the ideal cup to replace the broken glass of my coffee maker. I also loved the message

My coffee mugs are the same ones I have been using for quite some time, before me they belonged to my mother, and are a nice souvenir. I don't usually get many mugs as gifts 😭 I wish I had a collection ☕. But, I do have three, which my mother-in-law gave me some time ago, they are handmade and I like them a lot, although I usually use them more when there are visitors, because for my taste they are too small 😂. Of the three, I prefer the Carmelita, because it is the biggest!
The cups are very pretty, I like the decoration, it is very artistic and different from conventional cups. We could say that they are cups for visitors.😎

Today I come to participate in the new conversation of the week with lots of coffee and flavor.
It's really been a while since I've been gifted a cup, but I have gifted. The last one I gave was to my mother on Mother's Day this year. It was really something very special, I was looking for a small but nice gift. I was looking for so much, I didn't like anything and when I was about to give up, I saw it, it was like love at first sight. A little detail that would remind my mother how much I love her every time she drinks her black coffee without too much sugar.
The phrase on the mug says, "You're the best woman in the world, Thanks Mom.

It's a beautiful mug and a beautiful message. We may take our mothers for granted sometimes; mine played dolls with me and sewed little dresses for my barbies; that's how I started to learn to sew and to get interested in sewing, one of the hobbies that gives me the most happiness. She would've loved a special mug for her coffee, and I'm sure your mom loved the one you gave her, specially for the cute "thank you note"; loving mothers need to hear it ❤️

The last coffee mugs we bought was about ten months ago, we bought them especially to take pictures of ourselves for the @cinnccf community, hahahaha.
My husband, @irvinc, and I had been looking for two mugs that would fit our taste and requirements for more photo possibilities. So when they opened a new home goods store in a well known mall in town, we went looking for the mugs.
My husband liked the light brown one and wanted us to buy the same, but I am a little picky about it and my coffee mug is “my coffee mug”, I don't like that someone else uses it or doesn't have it available when I want to drink my tasty coffee, so I bought the dark-colored one. They are the same, but different, and I like that.

Believe me or not, once I found myself at a flea market standing with a cup in my hand.... and painfully thinking should I buy it (for taking pics purposes) or not. It was ridiculously cheap (like, 30 cents or so!) and was tiny and all pure white. Contras? I thought about little free space we already have at home. After 5 pins of standing and considering... I put it away and walk off. Ehehe.
We've done things for this community, haha, and for Hive in general. I knew I had seen those mugs before 😁

Before leaving the comment to @damarysvibra, I thought I will pass this one, as I dont have any new cup really; I use my current one for like 8-10 years and dont plan to change it. But then... I decided to show you the possible closest option I was near to obtain.

Once visiting a flea market, I stumbled upon this pad with coffee mugs. Somebody's collection? no I dont think so, probably some unsold stuff.
'Not my cup of tea' as they say. But still, I made a stop looking at it - and then suddenly notice this one, simple minimalistic Japanese-style.
It was ridiculously cheap (like, 30 cents or so!) tiny and all pure white. Contras? I thought about how little free room we already have at home. After 5 pins of standing and painfully considering pro and contras... I found the strength to reject the shopping appeal, put it away and walk off. Ehehe. It takes even more beautiful pottery to convince me to bring it home!
Although I only like the cup with the piggy on it, I must say the photo is beautiful and makes the cups so appealing that for a second I felt like I would've bought that box of cups!
I think I would've come home with that Japanese mug, even if I don't have room for more.
I still not sure if my decision was right or wrong. Probably wrong, that cap almost asked me to find a new home for it... ☘️
