Once I was up to experiment and mixed up my coffee with ... something that I had at my hand... I crushed some greenish stuff in a mortar (I have a great vintage brass mortar, as you see in the photo above), and know what? It was the most delicious and fragrant coffee in my life! Guess it were unroasted coffee beans? nope.
Hehe! I'm thinking aloud here... Could it be Pistachio nuts that looked like coffee beansβ
Coffee brewed from pistachios nuts? that sounds like a desperate idea... at least these nuts more tasty than acorns. Despite the color matches correctly - no, pistachios were not involved here. π§ PS. cool gif. mesmerizing!
the gif totally got me too π€£
hmm not pistachios... okay formulating my guess...
It's always a pleasure seeing you drop by, as your surely know how to tease with your photos:)))
This one is totally not about photo quality, I guess I got it correct way. π
Hehe! It's clever what you did by blurring the photo a little bit.π
Actually, no! I did not touched the photo at all, it was shot like that, unfocused rubbish. Happily I did not deleted it - and there came a day when I got use even of this unsuccessful photo! A wasteless production - isnt it nice? π
Haha! I was just browsing my hard drive looking to find some cluttered spaces photos. I realised that sometimes I need to take and keep bad photos because they just might come in hand. Just as yours did π
ππππͺ Murphy's law (if I'm not mistaken, it's exactly that) states that the unnecessary thing that you throw out becomes necessary precisely after the irreversible moment of throwing it away. Law of life!
Please, accept a hot hive !PIZZA from me?
Oh, ain't that the truth π
It's also the reason why so much clutter exists. If only we all had massive storage places, heh?
Oh, yay for pizza π
Coffee with something ground up...π€ what could it be. They look like seeds... I once roasted pumpkin seeds and ate them for a snack with coffee and felt a lot of headache relief. Maybe my idea π€.
that is warm, even hot, I should say! but no, its not a pumpkin coffee. (hand out = have a slice of !PIZZA for such original and bright idea).
Thanks for the pizza ππβ... By the way I forgot to tell you that you have a nice vintage mortar and pestle.
I know that! I'd love to boast it was my 'family heritage' but no :( from my parents and their peasnts parents, I got nothing like that. Obtained it at a flea market, and I have a houp it will be my family heritage now. But not sure, as the times they are changing...
I'm sure it is. I know because I took the one from my grandmother's house and I carry it with me all the time.
Coffee with green seeds, what could it be?
Give me a hint, salty or sweet?
Will it be peanut seeds
Seeds, yes, bingo! you almost there!! I cant say they are sweet, and definitely they are not salty, they have a distinct aroma. πͺ π±π±π±
I already know thyme seeds hahaha what is used for desserts,
My initial thought was super greens, but based on the context clues it does not fit... So I will guess... Are you hemp, or perhaps it's spicier sister?! ππ
No, sorry, that was wrong shot, but funny. Its a bit spicier, yes... !LOLZ
Green pimples... before I knew they were pimples I thought of something more hallucinogenic. Hahaha. I really don't know what it would have been, but at least you enjoyed some delicious coffee. Then you will tell us what the green beans were.β
I will try to guessβ¦ could it be coffee with someβ¦ green cardamom? π€·π»ββοΈ
Absolutely correct! you and @coquicoin guessed it right. my regards! π
Yay! Cool! π₯³
I'll go with cardamom as well because I like coffee with cardamom.
I usually drink my coffee plain without spices, but when I want to add some spices cardamom is a winner with coffee.
Absolutely correct! you and @mdosev guessed it right. regards! π
Fennel seeds?! I guess they must make coffee really "delicious and fragant."
I don't know if it's fennel seeds in your coffee, but now I want to try it π
That was a good shot, Marlyn! 1stly: no, you did not guess it right. (dont feel sorry, as you've got a consolative Hive !PIZZA from me) πͺ
now, about the fennel seeds:
that was a really good assumption, and know what? I do add fennel seeds to my coffee. I have a very special receipe that my old friend and coffee lover shared with me (so its double precious for me that way) - it includes a half spoon of fennel seeds (grinded in mortar), a full spoon of lavender flowers (slightly crushed, not into powder), and 2-3 cardamom seeds. This good friend of mine even supplied me with her lavender, which grows at her place. One day I will definitely show this recipe to the Hive. I still haven't taken the necessary photos... π§ ... and now I can tell what kind of green stuff was in my photo, tadaaaam: these were cardamom seeds!
@millycf1976, just for the record: @mdosev and @coquicoin had the right answer. I assume they are great conoissers and coffee-know-how-ers to guess it thru such obscure photo as I posted. (Or maybe we are just in the same boat?) Anyway: my sincere admiration & congratulations!
Cheers for this @qwerrie
β @mdosev
β @coquicoin
You're bright stars.
Well Done
Thank you π
So no it was cardamom after all, ha ha ha ha. That was my first guess, too! But I thought it was the wrong answers because of your reaction π€
About those fennel seeds + lavender + cardamom, what a nice recipe! I would have never thought about it. It must have a delicious aroma π€
You was very close, anyway, βοΈ count yourself a winner too! ππ
That's so sweet π I'll have double coffee to celebrate. It's 6:20 a.m. here π

Thank you, @qwerrie π I'll accompany that pizza with a cup of cardamom coffee!
I like to enjoy my dark coffee, on its own, without adding anything to alter its flavor. But from time to time I add an ingredient that I love, it is bitter and delicious, it melts with the heat of the boiling coffee. I like this combination, I feel it brightens my days, it's like being in love and having an illusion. Do you know what it is?
My humble guess: it is a bit of pure dark chocolate! Huh?.. π§
Do you think so? That it is bitter and melts in the heat... could it be chocolate?
Yes, it is, it melts. Strange choice, but could be, - from the sense of contradiction )
In the Venezuelan Andes we have the custom of adding cheese to all foods. I have been to places where they serve hot chocolate with cheese squares on the bottom, it could be coffee with cheese π€.
Nah! No Way! Noooooooooooooooo
My grandmother used to say: "don't say no, if you haven't tried it" ... Maybe if we give it a try the coffee with cheese would be great π β
Hehe! I've never heard of that combo before. Is that coffee with milk and the cheese?
This time it is not cheese. π€. I'm just saying that someone must have tried π€·π½ββοΈ especially cheese lovers.
My secret combination is more a passion than a taste. It is the power of taste and delight.
That's intriguing, and true.
I love the photos here π
this is a wise saying, but should be applied wisely, not in 100 and not even in 50% cases!
Grandmothers are usually wise, but I think that like Milly this time I don't want to try it, haha.
But I have tried cheese with hot chocolate.
Yikes, this is awkward... I left a coffee with cheese it in for you in your inbox ππ€£
Haha! The thought of coffee and cheese makes me wish I had a button to erase that knowledge.π
Wow! Such efficiency and enthusiasm π€£
π§ πππ
π€£π€£π€£ I've never tried coffee with cheese, and I'm not interested in trying it, lol. But I do know that in Colombia it is common to have hot chocolate with cheese.
π I was thinking today that my husband says that cheese gives him the same satisfaction as chocolate after a meal. We did research once to find out what it was, but I can't remember exactly.
But no, I would not be keen to try cheese in my coffee at all. That's a taste that would linger for a long time, and I wouldn't want to risk being put off either cheese or coffee. I love them both too much... just NOT together.
I wouldn't like cheese in my coffee either, I leave that eccentricity to someone else who loves cheese and coffee with the same intensity hahaha.
Haha! I'll come back in many lives saying "NOOOooooo"
I'm dying with laughter reading through these comments π€£
These dynamics are fun to get to know coffee and its thousand ways hahahaha
You are absolutely right.
I learned so much this week and got ideas that are worth exploring.
This Coffee Conversation rocks and I hope that more will get involved:)))
Little by little they are being added excellent dynamics I had a lot with the gifs
Oooh! I love this one. I've never seen it before:)))
Haha!! it's a smart strategy. There are things that we better not mix to continue enjoying both. I agree ;)
This is one case where I believe in segregation π
π€£
π€£π€£π€£ My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?!
Hehe! It's nice to see you. We all can't seem to get the idea of coffee with cheese off our minds.π‘
I'm trying to imagine the taste, ha ha ha ha. But I can't. Although I did soak my cheese sandwich to the bottom of my latte. But I used to be wild back then. Now I'm a civilized person, LOL π€£
I'm about to present my "riddle" ...a chunk of cheese is blocking the way of my creativity π
Haha! I know how that goes.
I'll have to come up with a riddle myself... I'll put my thinking cap on π
o! oooo! mdaaaa, coffee with cheese? I can imagine that, with parmesan for example, but - served separately :P
No parmesan cheese hahaha, at least it should be mozzarella cheese that melts with heat
that's heinous π€£ why did you have to pick such a strong cheese?! ahahaha
well, thats simple: cause my wife and me loves this kind :D
and in my opinion it matches well to the taste of coffee...
ofc it isnt the only option possible! depends on the serving, sure thing.
'creamy'-esque mild ones we like too! but thats a different story.
let me treat you with a !PIZZA, this morning cheese discussion made me hungry π
Thank you for the pizza! I will NOT be putting it in my coffee though π€£!LOLZ

Searching on the internet I have seen that there is a coffee to which you add cubes of a certain type of cheese and the drink is called Kaffeost. It's a beverage from the Scandinavian region. First time I heard about it, but your combo seems to be not so weird, hehe.
Look at this @millycf1976 π maybe it's not so bad.
Hmmm, so maybe @chacald.dcymt is onto something here with her idea of cheese in coffee. That's so interesting, and I'm intrigued to look up that info.
Cheers for that @coquicoin π
You saw @millycf1976 I'm not as crazy as everyone thought π€β bravo for the Kaffeost.
Kaffeost. π€
Ooooh! I'd never seen that before! I just googled it; its prepared with a special cheese (leipΓ€juusto, in Spanish it rhymes with "susto" π€£; it's as scary as the idea, ha, ha, ha, ha).
Hahahaha....
Jaja! you are right, it rhymes with susto
βοΈ + π§ =
Coffee with cheese π§ it's rare, it will be a matter of trying it.
π€
I think thanks to this meeting I will do it for research. Maybe we will have a delicious new coffee flavor and we can patent it π€π€π€π€π€.
Hahahaha well I knew about the oatmeal with cheese, the fororo, but the coffee? I'm still not ready for this conversation hahahahaπ€£π€£π€£π€£π₯³
Let's give it a try, friend. Coffee, cheese and we can press play
that is not cheese, that was a piece of ice-cream melting! π
siiii jajajaja is like frapuchino delicious
π thats a true scientific approach. good for you!
I am also guessing dark chocolate. However, just to be a bit different, I will specify that I think it is cocoa powder. This is one of my favorite things, and I can see you enjoying it too with your personality! π π€
I love cocoa powder with coffee. But in this case it "melts" πβ.
"ChimΓ³"?! Ha ha ha ha
ChimΓ³ is a tobacco paste. I can't find it's equivalent in English π€ Anyway, I'm just kidding π€
Jajajajaja
Hahahaha... Let me laugh. I don't know how you're going to explain to everyone in this conversation what Chimu is...ππππ
I don't think it's a delicacy that melts in the heat. Hahaha I can't stop laughing.
Ha ha ha ha! I hate it! π€£
And it's not yogurt???
Ginger candy?
I am melted by my failure π€£ π... I guess I was thinking "dissolves" interchangeably! haha
I really don't know what it would be, I read the other comments about cheese, here it is very common to add it to accompany coffee. I have been very intrigued with your combination . heheheβ
Bitter and melts in the heat... I assure you that the combination with coffee is spectacular. β
Hehehe... Sorry, it was a translator's error, I already corrected it. β
Happy day!
I am used to drink coffee with cheese (and my wife as well) but we serve them separately, cheese accompanies coffee on the same plate, but not in one single cup!
Cheese is a very common accompaniment when drinking coffee in several countries. Here in Colombia it is customary to add cheese to coffee, I personally don't like it, but many people love it.
It can't be cheese?! Nooooo, ha ha ha ha
I've used peanut butter lots of times. I thought it was peanut butter.
Peanut butter in coffee? Hmm, now you got me thinking. That "might" not be so bad... but could that be similar to cheese? π€£
OH, no, not at all! Peanut butter is delicious in black coffee and latte. You must try it!
I never thought about that combination before, but I think I might like it.
@chacald.dcymt what about peanut butter in coffee? Have you tried that one too?
Not inside the coffee but I have tried with cookies that I soak in the coffee π€π€π€π€.... I am a girl of strange tastes , but it is an excellent aphrodisiac.
Can we tell our secret? Or will it be for a next time?
I like strange tastes too, and maybe I need to start experimenting more with coffee. After all, I drink it daily, so there's no harm in trying it differently now and then.
Haha! It would be interesting to see the reaction π
Ok.... my combination secret if it was chocolate. What no one guessed was that it was white chocolate. It's a delight with coffee β.
I add a couple of squares to my dark and bitter coffee. I wait for it to melt and enjoy. A new and delicious flavor.
Ah, I never would have thought of white chocolate when I saw bitter.
I need to explore the aisles in the supermarket to see what I can find.π
You can look for it in the stores where they sell the raw material for cakes, the pastry shops.
Thanks! Yes, that sounds like the right section to check π
Ah, white chocolate! That's why you felt in love!
White chocolate is basically solidified cocoa oil and sugar. It might be interesting; I'd like to give it a try; I'll try to find white chocolate with no sugar added π
Oh my, is it yogurt?!
Coffeegurt!!! Ha ha ha ha
π€β
Coffee with yogurt....I don't know if this would be possible. But I'm one of those who tries everything. I'm going to give it a try.
I promise for this challenge to try coffee with cheese @millycf1976 .
Oh, I've never tried coffee with yogurt. I'm just saying. The sky is the limit π€£
I see coffee with yoghurt more like a frappuccino. But coffee with cheese
Have the Venezuelans never invited you to eat? Soup with cheese, salad with cheese, arepa with cheese and if you come to my house a cup of hot chocolate with cheese. Now all that's left to add to the menu is coffee with cheese.
I think I could even do soup with cheese... but
For me, coffee is tastier when it is neither too much nor too much.
I am sometimes round, sometimes pointed; either way I hold the secret to an ideal morning. I come in a variety of colors, yet always end up the same one in the end. What am I?
Photo of my coffee stash, and the reason I need it π
Sugar? π€...I'm bad at guessing π€ you can tell me things in your clues and I'll never know ....
I loved that picture ππ.

Ha ha ha ha. My head hurts, but I like it π€£
You both look really cute π
She has such a bright spark about her.
It moisturizes coffee. Will it stick or will it not? Itβs been in my hand for a lot of time now and when itβs not around everything becomes a real messβ¦ But what it could be?
You've got a cool manual grinder! I'm seriously considering getting one like this myself. (Up to date, I use quite an ordinary electric one).
sounds like a tricky riddle for me. but maybe the answer is simple, is that a soup for washing hands?.. one of my family members used to wash hands every 30 minutes, and we have 4 soap boxes around the flat xD
Nopeβ¦ not the answer! π
But yeahβ¦ washing hands is a good habit. When you donβt do it every 10 minutes, of course! π
I would not finger at that person from my family, hehe... the good habit, no questions here, but every good thing (on the peak of its success) easily can (and always do) turn into its opposite... this was known already in ancient China. Have a slice of Hive !PIZZA - matches perfectly to your coffee. π
The answer to my riddle was my little bottle spray which I use to eliminate static in the beans. This way the fine ground coffee doesnβt stick everywhere on the grinder.
On one of my summer trips I decided to leave it at home and then regret for my decisionβ¦ the fine particles were just everywhere on the grinder. π After that, this sprayer travels with me all the time. Just one spray over the beans makes miracles!
Wow!
I really love the look of your grinder π
Nutmeg? π€βπ
Actually it is the small sprayer bottle that is used to eliminate static electricity in the beans. This way the coffee doesnβt stick everywhere after being ground.
ππΌππΌππΌ wao!!! You sure know how to keep the mystery.
Bitterness comes to my mouth accompanying the sweet taste of dark. Along with the strong flavored companion, happiness comes in a lapse of unconsciousness. Maybe a malaise the next day and a plain coffee to kill the malaise.
One day I was brave enough to try the dangerous combination, I liked it, but then the pain of discomfort and I never again fell into the tempting sin of a coffee with bitterness. Can you tell me what that bitter companion is?
Dont put too much garlic to your coffee! it may give you more energy, but the taste can actually become too bitter.
Garlic? No, it's definitely not garlic, hehehe.
In Mexico they call him "Piquete" and boy can he revive the dead.
Thanks for leaving your comment.
Good day.
AHAHA your description is very fun! Are you by chance rum?
Hehehe... Almost, almost, it's an alcoholic drink, but it's not rum. You almost hit the jackpot.
Thanks for comment!
Good day.
Hahaha!
Could it be Baileys?
Hehehe... No, almost, but no. It is a liquor called aguardiente, which is made from sugar cane. I think I mentioned in another comment that in Mexico they call this combination "piquete".
Thanks for comment!
Good day.
Aguardiente is definitely an alcoholic beverage. I tried it once when I was in the Paramo and the cold was freezing us. We had the thermometer at -6 degrees Celsius and the gas in the vehicle had frozen. The coffee with liquor saved our lives. The next day my head was exploding.
We have a winner...
Excellent, you hit the nail on the head. β
It is a great story that happened and with a savior like coffee and aguardiente.
Thanks for leaving your comment.
Happy day.

Good day.
Thank you!!! π€
No, it's not sugar π The one I bought came in a little box, but it also comes in jars.
This poem is FABULOUS! And I really like your image/ gif thingy π
It feels like sometimes the best place to hide things is in plain sight, which makes me want to guess honey... Honey sticks??
Thanks a lot, @grindan! Not honey π But you guess part of it π€
I love the rhyme, it's like poetry.
I'm thinking of what it might be π€
Your reply is also like poetry π
That's so true, now that I read it back π
Ah! Cinnamon or Cinnamon sticks??? @marlyncabrera
Oh, yes!!! It's cinnamon. It's good to sweeten your coffee without using sugar. I like to do it sometimes in the afternoon. Here's my last stick!
Ok, cool! I won a guess
Congrats! You guessed it easily π I must be more cunning next time π
I haven't had cinnamon in my coffee in a long time. I must remember to try some in the morning:)
I use a stick to stir the coffee a little, so that it releases the flavor. Then I reuse the stick for the oatmeal or wash it and freeze it. One cinnamon stick is enough for a couple more coffees.
I always wanted to know how exactly people use the stick.
So this could be a good idea
If you don't cook it, you can reuse it a couple of times. Coffee is never that hot so it cooks your cinnamon stick. Also, if the stick is too thick, you can break it into two or more sticks.
Se vale anΓ©cdotas??? A quien no le ha pasado degustar un rico cafΓ©,buena aroma y cuando lo pruebas te das cuenta que como endulzante usaste sal? π³π
