Giggles Night with my Colleagues | Dinner and Coffee Sesh
Me and my old colleagues (banker days) met over dinner. It’s been 7 months since our last catch-up before I travel abroad. We decided to have our dinner somewhere in Busay specifically in Top of Cebu restaurant. They serve Filipino cuisine and the place was something new for us. It's a 45-minute to 1-hour drive from the city. I picked them up from their office (they’re just in 1 company) after their working hours and headed straight to Busay. When we arrived there, the place was crowded. We were number 5 on the waiting list. We started to check the menu on what food to order as well as to take photos while waiting since we missed each other’s company. We waited for about 10-15 minutes until the waiter assisted us to our table.
After we're settled at the table, we ordered beef salpicao, mongo bean soup, binagoongan baboy (pork with string beans and shrimp paste), and chicken and pork adobo. We didn't order a lot of food since we're just only 4 people. The good thing about this restaurant is that we didn't wait too long for our order to arrive despite how busy they were knowing the customers were flooding at that time. I guess we only waited for 20 minutes or maybe we didn't order a lot? 😂 We love their food and they're all sumptuous and we even ordered an extra platter of rice. My favorites were the binagoongan baboy and the chicken and pork adobo dishes. Give them a try too!
If you plan to have your dinner in this restaurant, I suggest that you make a reservation ahead of time before coming especially if you want to have a table with a spectacular city view because the place is always full packed even on weekdays.
After our tummy was full, we took advantage of their empty receiving area and took several photos. One of the waiters was kind enough to take some fine photos of us.😊
After our dinner, we craved some sweets and coffee so, we drove back to the city and stopped at Starbucks to have some desserts.
We ordered New York Cheesecake, Classic Chocolate Cake, Barista's drink, Java Chip, and Matcha Frappuccino. Can you guess what did I have for myself? 😁😃
I always look forward to spending time with them. Every time I'm with this group, our picture-perfect pose and giggles are non-stop (this is what I truly missed when I was away though). Afraid to say, we were the loudest group in the cafe that night. Forgive us! Good thing, the place wasn't that crowded and the people didn't mind us and besides, it was almost late at that time and on weekdays as well.
Indeed, food tastes better when shared with friends plus, the pictures, waves of laughter, and giggles in between. It was a fun night for all of us and, we went home with a big smile.
Ciao for now. See you in my next blog!
