Fun Weekend at the Highest Mountain in UAE: Jebel Jais

Highest Point in UAE.png

When we thought of Dubai, we thought of luxuries, the wide vast of the desert, exotic and fast cars, camels, one of the best places to skydive, Burj Al-Arab, and of course, the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa. Little did we know that Dubai got mountainous areas too and I am talking about the highest mountain in the United Arab Emirates, the Jebel Jais Mountain.

Last weekend, I, my cousin, and my cousin's cousin went on a road trip. This place had been bugging my cousin's mind since she saw and heard about this place through TikTok and she immediately wanted to visit the place as soon as possible. So we decided to visit this mountain during our day off. It was a one to two-hour drive (take note the minimum speed here is 100 kph).

Going there was a roller coaster ride. Some roads were stiff but mostly were curvy though the highway was wide enough that it has 3-lanes. Every time we passed by the curvy road, we hardly hold our grip onto the car handle because our driver drove as if he was in the fast and furious movie.

I was really dumbfounded by the place. It's like a Grand Canyon version in Arizona. I can't stop taking videos and pictures while driving to the peak. It's something new to me and I never thought that Dubai has something to offer not just those things I mentioned above.

When I knew that they have this trail ride, Jais Sledder, I was really excited and plan to experience it. However, when we arrived there, they were already closing. I felt bad though. We thought to just go to the viewing deck and watched the sunset. Here are some of the photos I took with the sunset together with my companions.

I don't know, is it just me that there is something about sunset? I love sunsets. I am always in awe every time I see one. It taught me that endings can be beautiful too. Well, it is how you perceive endings actually. Alright, enough being sentimental now. Lol! Though I wasn't able to ride the sledder, I was grateful and overjoyed that I was able to witness the sunset.

It was already dusk and it was getting colder as well. I left my jacket in the car and I started to feel the chilly weather getting into my skin deep. When I checked the temperature on my phone it was 19 degrees celsius. I acted as if the cold never bothered me anyway but it really did bother me. Looool! We didn't handle the cold anymore so we decided to go home since people were moving down too as well.

And, that ends my weekend trip.

See you on my next blog. Ciao!
