Hi and Hello, fellow Hive Music Lovers most especially to the @hiveopenmic community. I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe wherever they are. Thank you massive to @discouragedones, the community's most recent Spotlight Artist for choosing this week's wonderful and engaging theme, "Woman Life Freedom."

I've chosen the song 'Bitch' to match this week's theme. It was a song by Meredith Brooks, a singer-songwriter and guitarist from the United States. She performed the song in the alternative rock genre and she rose to fame after her song "Bitch" spent weeks on the music charts. She was also nominated twice at the 1998 Grammy Awards for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance and Best Rock Song. The song was certified platinum in Australia.

I loved how the song proved that alternative music wasn't solely for men in the 1990s. Along with questioning gendered society's expectations, the lyrics highlight a woman's multifaceted personality, demonstrating that we, women are entitled to a range of feelings, and it's okay.
