Some of the lessons learnt and short video from the teaching by bro Eli Soriano.

According to the Bible, prayer has a content. It is not a narration or story telling.

Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Prayer is making request to God.

An example of people who prayed was given.

Acts 1:24-25
:24. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
:25. That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

They prayed a precise prayers into God and they were led.

If our request is asked in a right manner, we will receive answer.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

I also learnt that, we should pray without ceasing. It is not only when it is convenient or difficult for us alone. We are supposed to pray at all time without disconnecting our means of communication with God.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.

We must ensure our prayer is not repetition.

Ecclesiastes 5:2
Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

Matthew 6:8
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

We should also ensure our that our heart is void of any evil towards man and God. We must have a pure heart.

Acts 24:16
And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

God is ready to hear our prayers and do all we want as long as we confess our sins and turn away from our wicked ways.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We should also make sure our mouth doesn't talk any how because out of the mouth that blessing come from it ought not to bring curses.

James 3:10
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

I also learnt that no matter what, we must not swear. It is prohibited.

James 5:12
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
