Correcting some misinterpretation about bible from Bible study session via zoom on 6th January, 2022.

Some of the misinterpretation people give about some bible verses were corrected at the Bible study session with bro Eli Soriano.

Some of the important lessons I learnt

• The purpose of the apostles during their time is for people to open their heart to God. No evil intentions in any way.

• According to Exodus 20:5 that says, God is a jealous God, He will visit the iniquities of fathers on children from first generation to fourth generation compared to the fact that God is Just.

The interpretation of that is that, God is truly just and will not punish the righteous for the wicked. It is only the generation that follow the way of their fathers and continue in their iniquities that will be punish.

An example of Abel and Seth was given. They are the second generation yet they did not carry the punishment of Adam and Eve. God accept the offering of Abel. Hebrew 11:4.

• When the word, "God's visitation" from first generation to fourth generation was mentioned, God's intention is to visit all to bring salvation unto them no matter where or whom they are coming from. 2Peter 2:12.

• Visitation of God is of two ways, when you do good, expect good. When you do evil, He will come with punishment.

Another misinterpretation that was corrected is

Psalms 145:9 that says God is good to all His works and tender to all His works and another in the book of Isaiah 45:7 that says He create light, He create darkness, He create peace and create evil.

• God does not do evil. Job 34:12. God will not do wicked nor will He pervert judgement.

• God warns people away from their wicked ways using the word "evil" not to come upon them.
  Meaning of evil said using the book of Jonah 3 and Sodom and Gomorrah as an example.
  God will punish, overthrow or destroy a place that go in disobedience to him. We can all agree that the punishment or destruction from God is big.
  God still in His mercy will never destroy a place or anyone who repent of their evil.

My formal belief that was improved on

• Children will not inherit the iniquities of their parents as long as the children are righteous to God.
  I formally believed that Children will inherit the punishment of their parents even if not all but they will partake.

• God is God of justice, He will not let the devil/satan touch His children but He will rather punish them by Himself.
  I formal believe that when we sin, Satan punish us

Ways in which the study affect me that can make me better person in my daily lives

Though Satan cannot touch me as a child of God, God will not pervert judgement. He will punish me if I decide not to obey Him or sin against Him. Therefore, in all I do, I must always ensure I do the right thing in order not to receive God's punishment.
