Poetic Verses from a Music Grup Called Noah : SEPARUH AKU or HALF OF ME (Part2)
Hello dear Hivers and all music lovers around the world! How are you doing? Hopefully, you are all doing great. When we listen to music, we don't talk about styles or just listen and move on. Music is way beyond, music is about feelings and being carried away by them. In fact, we are magically carried away by the atmosphere where the song takes us, bringing back memories that may have been forgotten, even bringing to life figures who are no longer in our minds and hearts. Music is very powerful and has quite a big impact on my life.
As I promised yesterday, I will continue part 2 of my previous content. I'm sorry for having to divide this part into 2 parts, I hope you're okay with that. I will review a little about the previous music content from the music group Noah from Indonesia. This band is famous for its songs that are easy listening and what is interesting here is the meaning of the songs are not immediately implied because the lyrics in the songs use many figurative words from the creator, Ariel. That's why I'm interested in the songs he created and reviewing them together with you.
In the previous part, I took a song from Noah entitled Bintang Di Surga or Star in Heaven and tried to interpret the implied meaning of the song's lyrics. Apart from the music being good, the tune of the song is amazing, I was also curious about the meaning of the song so I was interested in understanding and interpreting each verse of the lyrics more.
I'm curious about the songwriter wants to convey and even though I may not share the composer's perspective, it doesn't matter because everyone who hears the song will definitely have their own point of view in exploring the song. One song can have more than one meaning, again depending on who enjoys the song itself.
Let’s go straight to Noah's song entitled Separuh Aku or Half of Me, created by David, the keyboardist. This song is one of my favorite from Noah because it is really that good and makes me remember and ringing in my head. It feels like it won't be enough if you play it just once.

So, those are the lyrics to the song. What's interesting here is that I can interpret two meanings in one single song. Let’s find this out!
Firstly, about the songwriter who likes a girl who already has a boyfriend but she is always hurt. Maybe the songwriter of this song could be her best friend. In the lyrics, the songwriter says I want you to feel like you understand, I understand you, I want you to realize that your love is not him... From here the songwriter says that the girl's love is not him. The girl seems to have chosen the wrong man because he hurt her. In the chorus, the songwriter tells the girl to listen to his sadness, feel his pain, his conscience calls out the girl's name. So the songwriter loves the girl, his love is genuine for the girl. He says half of him is the girl.
I'm right here, understand you are never alone because I'm always near you when you fall down. This verse really shows that the songwriter is always there for the girl, always accompanies her, and is always ready to help and comfort the girl when she experiences sadness or something bad. At the end of the verse, because half of me touching your pain, all your wounds have become mine because half of me is you. It's very clear that the songwriter feels what the girl feels. All the pain of the girl's sadness, the song writer also endured it. All the wounds that the girl felt were his too. He became a person who really understood the girl's feelings because he said half of himself was the girl.

Secondly, this song is about the songwriter himself. He has another person or personality inside him. You could say that in my opinion there are two individuals or personalities, one is good and the other is not good or bad. I can say that he has a good and bad side inside him. So, this song is like the songwriter talking to himself. And it happens again The old story that is repeated You're hurt again From the complicated love that you lived.The songwriter talks to his another bad side of him, and the old story repeats, the songwriter is hurt again from the complicated love he has experienced. The songwriter of this song is the good side, who always reminds him of his bad personality. This good side reminds himself that his love is not that girl.

In the chorus, hear my pain is calling your name because I am half of you. So the good side also gets hurt if another bad side gets hurt because they are actually one. The verse says I want you to feel like you understand, I understand you, that means the one who best understands what's in his heart and mind is he himself.
The point is that I think we all have "personalities" or two different or opposite traits. Simply put, we all have good sides and bad sides. When we are going to do something, there must be a good side of us that always gives us good input, there is also a bad side of us where we are told to do things that are not good. True, or not?
So, that's probably all the review of this song from my opinion and perspective. This song is indeed a masterpiece and I really applaud Noah for being able to create this song.
