The band Dewa 19 has had a career in the jungle of Indonesian music for a long time and I remember when I was little and I listened to their songs. Dewa 19 is a pop rock music group born in Surabaya, East Java. Previously the original personnel were Ahmad Dhani (keyboard), Erwin Prasetya (Bass), Wawan Juniarso (drums), Andra Junaidi (guitar), and Ari Lasso (vocals). The name mentioned first ultimately became the most dominant person and a figure who could not be separated from Dewa 19, Ahmad Dhani. In the course of its music, Dewa 19 often had different pairs of personnel, especially drummers and vocalists.

Dewa 19 reached popularity in the early 1990s to early 2000s before going on hiatus in the 2010s. Dewa is known for their emotional songs and quality musical arrangements.
This cannot be separated from the rich references to Ahmad Dhani as the composer of the majority of Dewa 19's songs and is balanced with strong creativity and exploration from other personnel. Their albums gave birth to hits that "sounded" in the ears of Indonesian music lovers. Here the role of Once Mekel, who replaced previous vocalist Ari Lasso, became the new face of Dewa 19 in the 2000s era, although a little more passive than Ari Lasso in terms of stage action, Once has a high pitched voice so he is capable of singing Dewa 19's famous songs. One of which "Pangeran Cinta" was able to be conquered by Once Mekel. This high level of musicality ultimately led Dewa 19 to become the most influential band in Indonesia, and it is worth looking forward to their presence and stage performances. and I personally really like the vocalist Once because he is more suited to singing Dewa 19's songs than anyone else. He will never be replaced by his high-pitched and very distinctive voice.

You can hear how Once the vocalist's voice is very high and cool when singing the chorus in this song. This song is entitled "Pangeran Cinta" which means Prince of Love, and the music is also very rock with dominant guitar and drums making it a very extraordinary song.

One thing that stole attention was Dewa 19 appearing fresh with new arrangements for their hits and of course a format without a vocalist. After the era of Ari Lasso and Once Mikel, Dewa 19 did not have a permanent vocalist. Recently, Dewa 19 appeared with 2 vocalists who were much younger than the age of Dewa 19 personnel, named Virzha and Ello. The concept of a band without a permanent vocalist seems to bring uniqueness to Dewa 19. Apart from the two vocalists already mentioned, in several performances, sometimes Dewa 19 also brought back Ari Lasso and Once Mekel to be their vocalists.

In the end, the quality of the music is what makes Dewa 19 remain relatable and popular to this day. In fact, the continuous musical legacy has made Dewa 19 strong even though they have changed personnel many times. Dewa 19's musical legacy remains alive and relevant. Their songs are still sung by both the older generation who have known them for a long time and the younger generation who admire their musicality.
