Are You Experiencing Musical Paralysis? I Think I am :)
Hello music lovers around the world, it is me again. How are you doing? Hopefully, you are all doing great. I really want to share about music from around the 2000s and indeed those songs still make an impression to this day and in fact I still listen to those songs. Sometimes I also feel like I don't really want to know about current music or new songs that I don't think will make an impression on me. Although, there are also many songs from today which are also good and there are still elements of old music which have been updated and become a beautiful piece of music.
This is a collection of my old cassettes and they are all original. I left my pocket money to save and bought these cassettes. Hehehe. In the past, if I liked them then I would appreciate their work by buying their cassettes. Even now I still have it but unfortunately I no longer have the tape recorder so the cassette can't be played.
I am a member of the millennial generation and my musical tastes are inseparable from the 90s generation. I've heard that based on research, our musical tastes plateau at the age of 30, a phase where we are reluctant to try to find new songs. If you are in your 30s, you probably often skip songs recommended by platforms like Spotify, and you will prefer to play songs that are already familiar to your brain and ears. Music that you used to play a lot when you were a teenager, and you tend to be reluctant to try listening to today's music. I feel this statement is true because I also feel that way. I sometimes try new music in this era, but still nothing hits or sticks, it just passes by for a while and over time I forget. Different from the previous songs that I often played so I will return to those songs in the end.
Who likes this band and its songs please raise your hand? ^^
This fix is called Musical Paralysis, a condition where our taste in music gets stuck at the age of 30. This is based on research conducted by the French streaming music service, Deezer. Musical Paralysis is a condition when a person stops listening to new music and prefers to listen to the same music over and over again. That's what I still do to this day. Ha ha ha. Do you also feel like you are experiencing something called Musical Paralysis? Just let me know ;)
In this research, Deezer gathered 1000 respondents and asked them about music and their music listening habits. As a result, 60 percent of respondents stated that they had stopped listening to new music and had difficulty moving on from the same old music genres. The rest are people who want to try to enjoy new music releases.
Most respondents stated several reasons they were reluctant to try new music, one of which was busyness. Because they are busy working and caring for their families, they feel they don't have time to try new music. So I also thought the same thing, life is so tired with the twists and turns of life, why bother looking for new songs that are less familiar, although, in reality, there are several new songs which are still pleasant to listen to because the tunes and music are still included in the type of music from the past, which is familiar to my ear. However, if the music is very different from what I liked in the past, I will definitely forget it quickly, it will only last for a while and then it will be gone.
This song is truly extraordinary, you know this song as soon as I hear it I can immediately be transported to a place by the music and my feelings are swept away in the lyrics. With the voice of vocalist Amy Lee which is very distinctive and beautiful, it really blends with this song as if this song was created just for her to sing.
I just want to share and exchange thoughts with you all music lovers from all walks of life and this is from my opinion and perspective. During my childhood and teenage years, I used to listen to some old songs from my parents, because I couldn't help but be treated to songs that were my parents' favorites. Western songs that I usually listen to and I like them like Bon Jovi - Always, Air Supply - Goodbye, Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing, MLTR - Sleeping Child, Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit, The Cranberries - Zombie, Bryan Adams - Please Forgive Me, etc., yes, those kinds of songs. It really made an impression and I loved it. What is your favorite?
Western music influenced me and I grew up loving western music. Starting from my teens, I listened to music from the pop and rock genres, starting songs from Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Keane, Lifehouse, Creed, Linkin Park, The Script, The Calling, Simple Plan, Evanescence. Continue with songs from Hoobastank, Paramore, Avril Lavigne, My Chemical Romance, The All American Rejects, Green Day, Good Charlotte, Muse, etc. These songs have always resonated in my life until now and are irreplaceable. You can say I can't move on and yes that's true.
There is no doubt about the greatness of this song from Hoobastank entitled The Reason, who doesn't know? Music that is pleasant to listen to and I can play it over and over again until I never get bored.
Nothing can replace my taste in music until now, no matter how good the song is, I will still listen to songs that are familiar and comfortable in my heart. When there is new music that is the same genre as what I like, then I will tend to like listening to it. There is one male singer nowadays and he is Gen Z and I salute him because he is a singer who performs millennial rock songs. His name is Jaden Hossler maybe some of you have heard of it. Next time I will go into more detail about him and his music, it will be very interesting. Do you agree? Let me know.
Which of the cassettes above is your favorite? If I'm honest I can't choose because they are all my favorites of course ^^
In this era, it's rare for young people to want to sing songs from that genre and they will definitely think about it a thousand times because it can be said that it won't sell. The market now is music that is popular nowadays, right? Young people today will not like and are not familiar with songs from before them. Yes, that is normal and there is nothing wrong with it. It all comes back to the tastes of each music lover.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for me regarding any music that I would like to discuss with you, or songs or singers that I know, let me know please. I will accommodate and really appreciate it. I will try to share with you as much as I can and as far as I know.

I hope you always listen to music that you like and don't have to feel inferior because you always listen to that song. ha ha ha. Or even say we are behind the times. Music from all genres can also be enjoyed by anyone without exception. So, keep enjoying everything you like as long as it doesn't harm other people.
