Vaseline making.

Being an industrious woman, I have mastered various kind of skills especially now that the economy in my country isn't smiling at anyone.

I am not just a wife, I am also a mother, entrepreneur and most importantly an educator.

As an educator I love impacting new knowledge to the student, because I believe that knowledge is power and so sharing what I know gives me true satisfaction.

Last week, I taught my students how to make Vaseline.

Firstly what is Vaseline?

Vaseline is yellow or non- coloured jelly, mostly applied as a moisturizer or body cream to the skin glowing.

It is also very good for an infant an even adult.

Today i'm going to teach you the process of making Vaseline, in my country Vaseline is good for the body especially dry skin to prevent whiteness of the skin in a season called harmattan is a season of cold and dryness where you don't apply white powder to avoid whiteness.

All of the ingredients used to produce Vaseline are chemicals but not harmful.

The first thing to do, is to list out all the ingredients needed for the Vaseline production.

So, here are the ingredients for the production of Vaseline are:

• Parafin oil
• Candle wax
• Sheal butter
• Micro wax
• Jelly
• Perfume
• Color ( if desire).

The utensils needed for this production are:

• Source pan
• Wooden spatula
• Container
• Gas cooker.

Procedures:

The first thing to do is to put a clean pot on a low fire to dry ,then put the parafin oil in the hot pot leave it for 5 minutes add candle wax and micro wax to melt, after 5 minutes add the jelly and the shear butter (popularly known as Ori in my country) to melt.

Then one needs to keep stirring and test it on the cement floor to check if is too watery or too thick keep checking until is perfect.

Then again one needs to add color , mind you this optional, like my own Vaseline was colorless so you can choose to add color or not. And you choose to add color, you can add a color of your choice and make sure you do that while the mixture is still hot.

After five -ten minutes put it down to cool a little and add perfume and stir it then is ready put it in a preferred container leave it to cool and cock the container your Vaseline is ready.
