Throwback: Bohol Vacation 2024

Good evening HIVERSE!

Yesterday was the fiesta celebration of my mother hometown. During the time my grandparents were alive, they always sent me bring home meat Adobo or goat meat Adobo or carabao meat Adobo. I really missed them both.

Last time we spent vacation, my Aunt Judith avoided pork meat so we slaughtered goat to enjoy our meal with her. It's not perfect if we eat meat and my Aunt didn't had meat on her plate.

What a happy vacation I had though it was not the happiest moment. There were a lot of changes occurred like my kids were not with me and my grandparents and great-grandparent were no longer alive. The last time I came here was with my mother and due to financial instability, the last time she came home, I was not with her. I had a wife and two kids who need more allowance to finance. But this time, I came to be with my sickly Auntie. She needed a back up.

Those were the manual processed of butchering the goat in the mountain province. They have all the big pan and casserole for a special gathering like fiesta celebration or any occasions. The bayanihan system were there and the giant cooking utensils owned by the community and it could be borrowed by the members when there is a celebration and need big casserole and pan.

These were the very delicious recipes of Boholano people. They knew the perfect timing how to cook very well. My grandfather was the chef before and after his demised, he turned over his talent to my Auntie, the first sister of my mother.

I hope that someday, I manifest to be with my kids and mother going home to spend vacation again in the province. Bohol is one of the safest and internationally recognized for having the best tourist spots in the Philippines.
