Art Journal: "The Sundown Solace" | Coffee Painting βποΈ
Greetings Hiver friends, How are you doing? A blissful weekend to everyone. Welcome to my blog! In today's post, I created a soothing natural sunset scenery.
I called this artwork "The Sundown Solace" This scenery stirs up a sense of comfort and peace that comes with the nightfall.
The term "Solace" suggests a source of consolation or relief, making "Sundown Solace" a perfect symbol for the comfort one finds in the quiet beauty of the twilight.
I used three types of painting brushes for this art. It took me an hour to finish this piece.
For those who want to try to paint using this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch of your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
Painting Process:
This is the finished artwork of "The Sundown Solace" with a coffee painting.
