Art Journal: "The Stillness of Nature" βποΈ
Hello art enthusiasts! How's everyone doing? I hope you're all well. This is the new coffee artwork I created today. Please take a look and share your thoughts!
"The Stillness of Nature" is a Painting that evokes a sense of quiet contemplation and peace. It suggests a scene where nature is at ease or rest, letting us experience a moment of tranquility and calmness.
This painting could capture the indistinct beauty of a natural scene, highlighting the harmony and serenity of the natural world.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
