Art Journal: "Mist at Dawn" Original Coffee Painting βποΈ
Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I'm excited to share the new coffee artwork I painted today, which is my interpretation of "Mist at Dawn" This painting has been created by various artists, each offering their exclusive take on the theme. Please take a look and let me know what you think!
This piece of art depicts a captivating scene, blending subtle beauty and soft detail. The interplay of light in the landscape creates a mystical effect, casting a soft and diffused glow that adds to the overall sense of atmosphere and tranquility.
I used three types of painting brushes for this piece and it took me an hour to finish it. For those who are interested in trying this unique medium, you can follow the basic methods below.
Materials Needed:
π Watercolor Paper or sketching Paper
π Pencil and Eraser
π Coffee Powder
π 2 small cups ( lighter and darker shades)
π Ruler
π Clean Water
π Rag
π Paper napkin or paper towel
Brushes:
π Flat Brush /small #10, 10/32 / 8.0mm
π Liner Brush #2 / 2/32" / 1.6mm
π Filbert brush
Note: Keep all the materials ready before you start painting.
Basic Procedure:
β’ Outline or sketch your painting reference.
β’ Paint using a lighter shade of the background by creating a beautiful texture.
β’ On the middle ground, paint the first layer of the subject.
β’ The same procedure with the foreground.
β’ Once the first layer is completely dry, you can proceed to paint with a darker shade of coffee.
β’ Then add details to come alive of your painting. I used a liner brush for the thin details.
Take note: In putting details, you cannot have sharp lines and shapes unless it is completely dry.
