Modeling the Victor's Colloseum in Khymeria

Hello Splinterlands Fam,

Today I'm sharing with you the process of modeling Victor's Colosseum.

This arena is in Khymeria and it's a magnificent colosseum. Let's see what's written in the SPL Encyclopedia:

So, before I started modeling it I researched arenas. And here's the best one in the world! The Colosseum in Rome:

I didn't visit it but it's a shame for me. It's one of the 7 wonders of the world.

I checked and find a good section of it and started thinking about it.

This is the inner view of how it is today.

So, starting the model. I draw the entrance doors section and seating section first on 2 circles: 1 inner and 1 outer.

These are the sections.

Then I started sewing them together. But I realized at some point this will be very hard. Went back to sections again.

I arrayed the sections but again it seemed a very hard process.

So I thought to myself, first model the slices and then array them around them. So I choose that method.

For the entrance slices, I modeled the entrance parts.

And when I finished arraying them they look like that.

Then I started to add some more details. These will be the foundations of each splinter, there will be flags on them.

Modeled some of the entry details.

And here are the flags I designed to add on top of the arena. I like the Dragon flag most :)

Added the flags and oriented them.

I added some in between the front pillars but I'm not sure about them!

Started slicing the outer landscape to make it look like the original.

Here is the model before exporting it to Twinmotion.

And here is a short story about an architect coming to Khymeria from this world, to renovate and modernize the Colosseum.

I was finishing a model of the Roman Colosseum in my study room when I heard a knock on the door. I did not expect any visitors. Besides, who could it be at this hour? I peeked out through the door, but I couldn't believe my eyes. There was a Swiss guard at my door. After thinking for a while about whether to open the door or not, I reluctantly opened it:

"How can I help you?"
“Are you the architect Casimirio Talentuoso?”
"Yes, it is me. Who are you?"
“I am Adriano Ballusta of the Swiss Guards. I have brought you a letter from Cardinal Incensius."
"Is it a mistake, I don't know him."
“There is no mistake, I have to hand this over to you. Good day"
And then he walked away. I didn't know what to do out of amazement. I opened the envelope in front of the door:
“Mr. Talentuoso, we are aware of your architectural talents and we need you for a very important and secret mission. Please come to the Vatican main entrance at 13:00 tomorrow. This is a very important job that no one but you can handle. We will be very happy if you come tomorrow.”

I went inside, read it again, and couldn't make sense of it. But I wanted to go on this interesting mission. I tried to get some sleep, but I couldn't.

The next day, I reached the Vatican at the appointed time. Again, Adriano greeted me and escorted me to the Cardinal's room. I went in, and the cardinal approached and shook my hand.

“It was a great honor to meet the famous architect Casimirio, please take a seat.”
“I'm honored sir, I'm not that famous but thanks for the compliments”
“Yes, I have heard that you are also humble. Come in."
“Can we get to the point right away, what do you want my help with?”
“The subject is very sensitive. Are you open-minded, Mr. Talentuoso?”
" Yes definitely. Only in this way is it possible to be successful and creative.”
" I am pleased about that. Then I'll get straight to the point. We connect to another universe in parallel with our universe through a portal behind that door. And although this world is somewhat similar to ours, magic and fantasy are common there. The mission is to renovate an important piece of architecture in that world, Victor's Colosseum."

It took a long time for me to digest these stories and couldn’t believe that they are true. However, when he opened the door and we went to the other side, I saw everything with my own eyes. Things get started and I was so excited.

I adapted to their culture for 2 months to get used to all this and start the task given to me. And I studied the mentioned structure.

One day I asked the Cardinal:
“All this is ok but why do they need someone from this world? If this colosseum was built in that world, aren't their architects who did it?"
“Unfortunately, the architect who built this colosseum is no longer with us, and there is no one from Khymeria who can handle it. They asked for help with reference from our colosseum and we are helping them.”

The explanation was simple, but I was sure there was more to it than that. After finishing work on the new version of the Colosseum, I crossed into that realm and started working on bringing the Colosseum to life. I could not have guessed what awaited me…
