RE: Gilham’s End: a weekend freewrite. 6 fifty-word stories, one tale (Humpbuckle Tales 17 - 22)

I love how this reads like chapter and verse of an Old Testament Bible story.
It made me keep hoping for an angel to appear and prevent Gilham's apparently imminent "End."
No such luck.
His last thought somehow made me laugh - of all the things to worry about at The End!
And that tells me "It's just a fiction," a yarn, JUST FOR FUN, not some cautionary tale, not some sad dirge for a departed loved one. Thank you. I needed that!
