Weekend Engagement #176: Food, family and good weather
Hello to everyone in the Weekend Experiences community! Today I'm joining the Weekend Commitment, with this being my entry to participate in it. So let's get moving on answering some of the topics that have been posed to us for this day. Let's talk about food, diversification and climate Let's get started!
Weekends are known by many as ideal days to spend time with family, as a couple or with friends. Usually because these are the days off for many. It's not much different here at my home because even though there is always work and we rarely have weekends off, we take the space to enjoy each other's company. This is how in the previous week, I commented on how a weekend with my partner used to be; lots of food, entertainment and sharing.
This weekend is special because soon I am going to visit my mother who is in Valencia (another city). So this is my last weekend at home and I will be a while without seeing my partner and to be honest, that breaks my heart a little bit. However we promised not to take this too hard and make it worth every minute we have left. In keeping with that, we decided to buy Chinese food for Saturday and have a marathon of a new series we are trying out called "American Horror Story". It's really good.
For Sunday we decided not to buy any fast food and for the change, to have a special meal; pasta carbonara. Pasta that we love with madness. So we went to buy some of the ingredients we were missing and in the evening we started to prepare the meal. I must say that the picture does not do justice to what the pasta looked like because it was quite creamy, intense due to the flavor of the pecorino cheese and bacon. Some people usually add nutmeg, but we did not. The secret to a good sauce is to choose a good cream, let it cook over medium heat and of course, do not overdo it with seasonings.
Finally, with a full stomach and a happy heart, this weekend has been pleasant and happy. And regarding the weather, here in Venezuela the rains have stopped, the skies are starting to look clear and the breezes are arriving early in the morning. Here we do not have four seasons, however, we are in the autumn equinox so we are affected by it. Without more to say my friends, thank you very much for stopping by and reading my publication, I send you a big hug and see you next time.
