My Hive Story As A Newbie
I was going through a @merit.ahama blog when I came in contact with her post concerning her Hive story and guess what I was not only thrilled about her story but I was pushed to answer the questions asked by @snook.
Although I still consider myself a newbie on Hive but I am sure that I can still go through with the questions.

- How long have you been on the Blockchain?
Hmmm, I opened my account in this blockchain on September 21, 2021, precisely. So, I would say I am two months and some weeks old here in this blockchain.
What was your background in cryptocurrency when you first came to the Blockchain?
Well, I had little idea about cryptocurrency from the news, and from those who were involved although I just knew it existed and would be the means of exchange very soon and nothing more. I can still say I was a novice at cryptocurrency.
What was your background in writing when you first came to the Blockchain?
I am poor when it comes to writing and remember how poor I used to do back in the school days when I was always given writing composition as classwork. I mean, I felt writing was too stressful, so did not always do well most especially when it comes to the English language.
How many people did you know when you first came to the Blockchain?
I knew no one. I was completely alone with no one to guide me when I joined Hive.
How did you meet people when you first came to the Blockchain?
If I can guess right, my first post was a contest in the Ladies of Hive community. So I think in the first two days, I started with writing a contest and started following those who commented on my post.
Who did you look up to when you first came to the Blockchain?
No one in particular but after my second contest post in the Ladies of Hive community, I began looking up to the likes of princessbusayo, merit.ahama, blezyn whose blog always intrigued me because of the ways they wrote. So most days, I go through their blog for an update and see how I can do one or two things I find fun and interesting to do.
*How would you describe your first three months on the Blockchain?
By months, I would say I am three months but if we want to count them properly, I am yet to be three months old in this blockchain because I started blogging in this blockchain one month ago but if I am given the chance to describe my days here, I would say fun, confusing and most days hectic since it's my first time doing such thing.
You know, there most days, my mind goes blank, and even when I search hard about what to write, I realize my mind is blank. Those days can be fun while on other days, I see myself forcing my mind to think deep and forcing my hand to conjure words together so I can come out with something tangible to post.
Has being a part of the Blockchain changed you in any way for the good?
I would say a big yes. Being here has helped me in writing skills although I know I am not that good, I guess I am better than when I started writing most especially since I have been participating in the @freewritehouse ZapFic prompt.
Being in this Blockchain is helping my intellectuals because every day when I wake up what first comes to my mind, is "What do I write today?" That question helps me think vast and think of something to come up with.
What is your favorite memory from your time on the Blockchain?
Well! Well! My favourite memory is when I had a big upvote on my introductory post. Although I know the upvote can be seen as a small one but considering I was a newbie, that upvote put smiles on my face for days any time I scroll to my post and after then, I got another upvote on one of my contest posts.
My favourite moment in this blockchain is when I am given an upvote on my article. It doesn't matter how much, what matters is, someone saw my article worth their upvote and that is what matters most to me.
Secondly, is when I get comments about my post, it encourages me to be a better writer even when I know I kinda suck when it comes to writing.
If you could advise a new person signing up to Hive what would it be?
I am also a new person on Hive but this is going to be my advice, find a community that suits your personality, engage either by writing contest, the free write, and comments. Give your best and be yourself.

I joined in 2017 but didn't start posting until the Spring of 2018, and I am still learning new things and there are still plenty of old things for me to catch up on too.
